Well I haven't had it in hot weather yet, but my old raw aluminum one got pretty hot in the Vegas summer. It doesn't get freezing cold though but again I haven't had it through a full winter yet. As for pics, I am waiting on my "color pack" so I can put a red washer on top to match my GTR engine start button haha.

i know it might sound dumb, but what do you mean by hot? you know when you get into your car on a hot day and the seatbelt touches your upper arm and burns like hell, is it that hot? or is it like, a dish coming out of the dish washer kind of hot?

Dishwasher hot for sure.

Aluminum retains less heat than steel or most other metals so it won't get as hot as the seatbelt. Plus it cools off faster.

Great write up Mike. Berk should buy you an oil cooler so your car is a viable backup car for November. :)

Thanks! If we didn't already have the championship locked in then I might have more of an argument. Maybe AE Performance will let me co-drive their car at Fontana if it comes down to it... Please Paul? I will run old on your old tires and pay for gas... :driving:

Sweet! Hawk Performance HPS brake pads showed up today! Last piece of the puzzle will be getting my powdercoated and re-built calipers from Mike @ ThePowdercoater.com! Then I can get around to doing my brake upgrade project! Going to have to wait until after SEMA though.

Mike 10-27-2010 07:08 PM

I'm going to try to get them done this weekend before SEMA, so all we have to do is install your rebuild kit when I get back.

M.Bonanni 10-28-2010 11:22 AM

Sweet! Got any ideas for a red that is cooler than standard red, but doesn't look maroon from far away?

You can order a "color pack" from them that includes a bunch of different color washers including red. As far as the height, its about the same as stock, but I like it because you can grip it differently. Just a wierd personal preference, but I like grabbing the shaft rather than the head... :wtf2: :supergay: ...but seriously I can't think of any way to explain it that doesn't sound ghey so might as well go all the way with it.

Jamaica 10-28-2010 01:13 PM

was something wrong with your calipers? Since mike is rebuilding them? What color did you go with?

The seals cold use a refreshing after 12 track days. They aren't that bad but figured as long as they are getting torn apart from powdercoating might as well put them back together with all new seals and dust boots.

WShade 10-28-2010 01:29 PM

What color is your shift knob? I can’t really tell on this crappy work monitor. It looks like a perfect match to the interior trim.

Yeah it matches really well. Its their "titanium" color.

:icon18: i see what you mean. hmm i'm more of a head grabber as of late:roflpuke2:. when i shift into 5th and sixth i usually push it away instead of pulling it away.

Not much going on here lately unfortunately, but I did recently get some FX Carbon Fiber film to try out. It's really pretty sweet stuff, its textured like real dry CF, reflects light the same as real dry CF, and looks flat out awesome. I only had enough to have my rear bumper valance done, but will be getting more soon to do some other small things like mirrors, front fangs, and maybe the roof.

Swift Spec-R springs on order from Scott@FontanaNissan! :happydance: ETA next week.

Was saving up for coilovers but it was taking too long so I decided to go springs instead since its just a daily driver and use the leftover money as a good start for my exhaust fund.

Nice to have you back!
Which exhaust are you going to go with?
I like stillen exhaust but the damn muffler is too restricted...
:shakes head:

Berk Technology exhaust hands down. Not even considering anything else.

Nice choice on the springs Mike! I am really interested in your opinion on them once you get some seat time, I love mine so far but you have a lot more experience than I am at discerning suspension setups.

M.Bonanni 12-30-2010 03:39 PM

Change of plans on the suspension setup. Springs are out, going back to BC Racing ER Type coilovers! Couldn't pass up this deal. :)

Same, just the off-the-shelf 12/10 setup.

Make sure you specify 12/10 as apparently the default is 10/8 even for the ER. I know all the original orders you placed for the ER's got shipped as 12/10 so I'm sure you know what you are doing. ;)

I don't mind either way personally since its just for daily driving use, but I was always under the impression the ERs were off-the-shelf at 12/10. At least that was the original plan back when they were first released.

That's what I always thought as that is what mine are, but Scott @ RA confirmed with Pete that 10/8 is the default and the website info shows that as well.

Damn! I was looking forward to you getting the Swifts haha, you made the better choice though especially with your experience.
