On the angled part of the shroud, facing the nose of the car. You might consider drilling some decent sized holes in there to get airflow on the pan. The Nismo version has a vent cut in it for that same purpose.

And weight reduction. **** yeah.

Nice upgrades!

Glad to see more of the Thai Tanium pieces. Lots of hype on FB, but I haven’t really seen anything about these or the TPs. Good looking piece though! Let us know how it sounds.

Looks so much better and now I have a door for oil changes!
It seriously feels so much sturdier and has the vents for hot air to escape. I’m really happy with the purchase easy install and the quality is fantastic. A+ mod.

I also received my custom dual resonated Thai Titanium y pipe! My tuner said he feels I could pick up some noticeable hp and a little tq from a single exit exhaust, plus I’ll save 61 lbs with this new set up... ended up placing an order with Z1 today.

So... here comes the Tomei!! :driving:

Thanks for the post! Looks great!

Car doesn’t feel as strong... ran my friends 2002 SS with intake and exhaust, no tune... dead even. What the hell... contact my tuner, send him logs... says the cars running way leaner than he had it.

WTFFFFF!?!? .... I don’t even know where to start

Alright that's pretty strange. Since your tune, any modifications or changes, even those that might seem insignificant?

Only change is a ZSpeed undershroud instead of a stock plastic piece missing half its bolts... lol

Same gas, shell 93.

I do have that fang air mod that has the tubes running from the fangs to the filters to get more air. It DID have that while being tuned. But driving on the street vs sitting on a dyno with a fan I imagine is a large difference... but could it be that big of a difference to make the car run “way leaner” and lose a significant amount of power?

I have the same catch can, only in red. I got them pretty cheap as well. I went the distance with them and purchased rubber o-rings to seal the top bolt and the dipsticks. I have two cans and spent less then a $1 on these. They help to keep the airtight seal you need. I also used steel wool to help catch the oil vapor. Here are a few pics of them: Nissan 370Z Forum - Spartan 1771's Album: Dual Oil Catch Cans

Just a few suggestions.

Great idea... I bought the same cans but ended up not using them because the dipstick wasn't sealed... (bigger problem for me since my cans get pressurized)

I can't imagine you'd lose power from that. What about leaks? Any sign of exhaust leaks?

I reset the ecu per his request and re ran the logs. This is his response:

“the tune is perfect now. The sluggishness you were feeling is due to the long term fuel trims degrading the original tune. It seems as the long term trims were taking fuel away from the tune which caused it to lean out the full throttle portion.

Is your PCV deleted currently or are you running the stock PCV setup?“

I told him I’m running dual catch cans, he advised:

“remove the catch cans and run a proper PCV delete so we can track how the long term trims are moving”

So, we’ll see what happens I guess

Per my tuner, I removed my dual catch can set up and installed a pcv delete kit. I went with EPS tuning as it seemed the most legit. A little expensive, but it looks nice. I saved about 3.5 lbs off the front end of the car by doing this, yaaaaayy! ... but I did notice a larger amount of oil than I expected. The picture is the oil from both catch cans together, and over a period of about 3 months.

Does it look right, or excessive to you guys?
