Thanks, I wondered about that. I’ll get some super glue.

Put on my Stillen 25 row oil cooler today! Wasn’t hard at all. Put some extra rubber tubing around my ac lines for extra protection. Also while I had the bumper off, I upgraded my AFFM (Air Functional Fang Mod) with some better tubing and 2.5” aluminum flanges! Looks much better now, and the bumper fits on way better, plus there’s less turns in the tubing since it’s 3 foot instead of 5. Much more direct airflow. And the tubing is a thicker rubber instead of that thin flimsy aluminum like the dryer tubes so it should keep the air cooler. Tossing in some pics of the new tubing and how it’s routed in case other people want to do it.

Disclosure: idea for better parts stolen from this thread, but my routing is very different as it’s for Gen 3s and not stock air boxes.

The pictures of the front bumper, including the one that’s for some reason upside down, is to show how the painted black intake flanges blend in.

I also added a Z1 Motorsports decal to my strut bar, we will see if it stays. :ugh2:

Edit: Earlier this week I went to the grocery store, 7 min drive each way, and idled for 5-10 min in the parking lot while my girl ran in.

Tonight I drove to Walmart, about 15 min each way, was in Walmart with the car off for about 45 min. The on the way home stoped at Taco Bell, then did 90mph in 6th for 5 minutes on the way home, plus it was probably 5 or 6 degrees warmer tonight.

The other day, temps hit 196. Tonight? Never went above 184. Dig it.

My tuner thought maybe I was getting a little oil mixed with my fuel and lowering my octane levels. So we tried this out. It was actually a really cheap catch can, I think it was $36? But it is actually good quality and works, so I’m happy with it! Plus it has a little screw in dipstick!

I have the same catch can, only in red. I got them pretty cheap as well. I went the distance with them and purchased rubber o-rings to seal the top bolt and the dipsticks. I have two cans and spent less then a $1 on these. They help to keep the airtight seal you need. I also used steel wool to help catch the oil vapor. Here are a few pics of them: Nissan 370Z Forum - Spartan 1771's Album: Dual Oil Catch Cans

Just a few suggestions.

Thanks! I do actually have some steel wool in mine to help catch the oil, but not the o-rings, not a bad idea, I should probably do that!

However mine don’t have that top bolt? What’s it for?

I didn't realize that it was a little different from mine. It can be removed so a breather can be installed.

Oh cool, cool, what size orings did the dipsticks take?

Honestly, I can't tell you. I brought the dipstick in to the hardware store with me and fitted it before I purchased them.

Sway 05-22-2019 01:59 PM

Simple enough, I’ll do that, thanks!

It’s the details that sets us apart.

Z1 radiator cap. They say it helps with cooling.

But I can for one say, it added about 13.724 rwhp, made my suspension more responsive, increased my throttle lag by -12%, stopped the squeak in my clutch pedal, and made my cubby door open faster.

Replaced my windshield this weekend! It was the original, it’s crazy how many super tiny chips and specs the windshield gets over 60k miles. Even when clean it looked a bit dirty. Now it spotless!

Also taking to Admin Tuning this Thursday for a retune and to run her on the dyno! Can’t wait!

AdminTuning Review:

SO! I got my car tuned yesterday...

DISCLAIMER:
(All dyno pulls were done on a Dynojet in 5th because of the 4.08s so the numbers will be closer to stock gearing, but still will read a little low from my understanding.)

I knew for a while something didn’t feel right, a baseline run on the dyno confirmed that as my car with all my mods only put down 279whp and 230wtq which with 4.08s is basically stock... Moncef at AdminTuning basically told me my car had NO timing which is obviously bad, and not good for the motor... it didn’t take him long at all to fix the issue which made the car pick up 20 horses at the wheels... then he began tuning himself and picked up another 11whp. So at the end of the day I picked up +31whp and +31wtq with a very smooth and healthy looking curve. The car feels better than ever! He also toned down the throttle map compared to what it was with my previous tuner, which makes the car smoother and easier to drive, but is still snappier than stock for a perfect balance in my opinion. My throttle isn’t so on/off like it was before... which my mpg went way up on the ride home now with it being easier to modulate the throttle. The final numbers on the car were 310.46whp & 261.01wtq which is a huge improvement and I’m excited for... but doesn’t get me in the 330whp+ club like I wanted.... hmmm what next...

Anywho,
The Good
- Found the issue with my car and fixed it quickly
- Excellent results with increase in hp/tq across the entire graph
- Paitent and answered all my questions thoroughly and with good attitude
- Very helpful via messaging both before and after tuning with him
- Gives honest and helpful advice about current and future planned mods
- Healthy and smoother power curve
- Good/smooth throttle response
- 4 maps including a flame map
- Fair pricing
- Nice shop with a waiting room with A/C
(a lot of Texas shops are in warehouses and don’t have that luxury)

The Bad
- The only complaint I have is I felt the wait time I endured after my scheduled appointment before him getting to my car was pretty excessive... he did apologize more than once though, and checked on me several times offering me water and/or Gatorade. And with the results, I still feel it was worth it and would go back to him for retuning after new mods, and would highly recommend him to any Z owner.

Here’s a link to the Instagram post he made: Please go like, comment, and follow! Haha

I finally installed my black ZSpeed undershroud.
Looks so much better and now I have a door for oil changes!
It seriously feels so much sturdier and has the vents for hot air to escape. I’m really happy with the purchase easy install and the quality is fantastic. A+ mod.

I also received my custom dual resonated Thai Titanium y pipe! My tuner said he feels I could pick up some noticeable hp and a little tq from a single exit exhaust, plus I’ll save 61 lbs with this new set up... ended up placing an order with Z1 today.

So... here comes the Tomei!! :driving:
