Also probably too late to do anything about it and just my preference in terms of heat management but I would - and did - wrap my headers after pulling the OEM shields.
Given the clearance issues with the BP twin kit tho that might not have been feasible for you. |
Good advice, I t might be a little tight to get to them now, but I’ll take a look in a few weeks when I plan to spend another day on it.

Got passenger side piping and turbo on this weekend, everything seems to fit good, gonna take apart and tighten everything up next weekend then on to finish the driver side.

I got the second turbo on today. Getting closer :). I still need to connect the piping to the intercooler, (driver side looks like a bit of a gap between pipes I’ll have to finesse into place) and then intercooler to throttle bodies and connect all vacuum/boost lines and I’m done. Exited to see the end soon.

Got a temporary tune, Harry at ZTuner was able to come by my house and get it running. In a few weeks I’ll be able to take it to his shop and get it tuned on the dyno, gonna be a hard few weeks.

Thanks, you just need tools, YouTube and lots of patience :)

Installed the Z1 catch can kit. I know I could have put one together cheaper myself, but at this point in my build I’ll take easy any day, and their kit was super easy to install. Catch can brackets are great and, while close, it misses my BOVs.

Boost gauge installed, just waiting on the new map sensor to come in so I can get this thing tuned. The wait is killing me

Build is looking sweet!

Got it tuned today, and wow. Never had a turbo car before, this thing is incredible. We didn’t get a chance to get on the dyno, I had my wastegates plumbed wrong and that took a bit to fix because of where they were at. Going back to the shop next weekend to fine tune it on the dyno and also tune a second map for E85. Going to be a lot of fun driving it this week to make sure there are no issues that need fixed in the next session.

Just got my FI crash bar in yesterday and installed today. Fits great on this kit, easy install, it’s tight on the driver side, but still clears. Getting on the Dyno tomorrow to finish my 93 Octane tune, then back on Saturday for E85 :)

Nice! Have the turbos failed yet? They must have five or six miles on them :ugh2:

Ha….ha. I’ve got about 50 miles and no failures, so I’m in record breaking territory now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Got tuned on the Dyno today :) lots of fun, first time on a dyno. We got 528hp and 443 ft-lbs on 93 and 542 hp and 444 ft-lbs on E85 all at about 9psi.

Ordered the zeitronix eca-2 to measure ethanol content. Since I have a gas station across the street that carries E-85, I’m thinking that’s what I’ll run most of the time. Got the AN fitting from CJM so the the sensor should be able to attach easily to my CJM top hat. Hopefully I can get it installed next weekend if it comes in and get the bumper back on so she looks like a complete car again.

All signed up for a track day at Sebring in November. Got a few things I wanna tighten up on the turbo install and get everything back together, probably need some new rubber too, I like my RE71’s so I’ll probably order a new set of those soon.

New Tires came in today. I couldn’t find any RE71s so I’m trying Kumo V730s

Broke down and ordered some SPL FUCAs last night, there may have been some alcohol involved in this late night purchase :) This is the last bit of suspension I had left to upgrade, now I can add some camber up front before my track day.

Let me known how the Kumo V730s do :tiphat: |

Will do, tread looks really good for the track, minimal grooves on the outside and inside. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The price for a set of V730s makes them a DEAL if their performance is even remotely close the the RE71R. Did u look at the newly released RE71RS? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I did, they look to be an improvement, I just couldn’t find any in the size I wanted, I found 275s for the front but couldn’t find 305s for the rear Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Got some goodies today, FUCA and ECA -2 ethanol sensor and gauge. Hopefully I’ll get at least the sensor and gauge installed this weekend, probably shoot for the FUCA next weekend and then get the tires on and an alignment.

Got some good wrench time in today.
I installed my SPL FUCAs, just need to get an alignment when I get my tires on. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2cd4d3a046.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...98be83c7a8.jpg Got my bumper on, it’s been off for over a year. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7f338de561.jpg I upgraded my sway bar bushings, the wheeling ones lost their nub and slip off the bracket. They even have a little port to inject grease. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4408b1b1db.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0c269ac8af.jpg Even added a little carbon fiber bit around the gauges. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...560566db09.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1cb2c55d81.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Got my tires put on and an alignment, -2.5 up front and -1.8 in the back. Flushed the radiator, new brake fluid, new serpentine belt and made some brackets to make my undershroud fit under my intercooler. She’s 100% back together and ready for the track and some fun.

Added a fire extinguisher to the passenger seat. Probably a little overkill, but nervous for my first track day with a new TT kit and fuel return system.

Track day started off a little rough, the trailer I rented damaged my bumper a little, and tore my undertray. Fixed the bumper but didn’t realize undertray was loose and got meatballed. Once the undertray was removed, the car ran great the rest of the day. Never got close to testing the limit of the car, so much to learn, it was awesome. Got a little rain in one session and only got video for a few laps before my memory got full. Good flexed alot on the back straight going over 130, but that’s when I had the undertray issue and it didn’t seem to do that again. Looking forward to the next one, gotta work on my heal toe and get a new undertray, maybe zspeed

Here’s a link to the video of the lap before my phone ran out of memory. Need to make sure I’ve got plenty of space next time. Definitely not my best lap, but don’t think my best was a whole lot faster.

Took part in some Black Friday deals this week. Ordered a Zspeed under-tray, Nismo bumper with all parts needed including fly1 CF accents. Excited to get these on the car and be confident the front end is secure on the track and looking good
