Looks like I'm gonna be a +1

eastwest2300 07-30-2014 07:26 PM

I tried reaching out to birdman but he's unfortunately not gonna be able to make it..

b1adesofcha0s 07-30-2014 09:26 PM

Alright I got the attendance list updated. Can everyone left on the maybe list please confirm their attendance ASAP? Thanks.

dmhenderson 07-30-2014 10:14 PM

I will be there. Just a heads-up though, weather forecast is now calling for rain on Sat.

m4a1mustang 07-31-2014 05:38 AM

Rain stinks. I'll be there anyways. I wouldn't be able to make the rain out date.

italy3541 07-31-2014 05:42 AM

I will not be going, but if it gets rained out put me down as a maybe for it.

The chances of rain are higher on sunday than they are on saturday... I fricken the weather people around here, they can never ever get it right.

I think we're gonna be ok the first half of the day, and maybe get a pop up shower sometime later in the day.

Hopefully it works out. I don't mind a little rain, but if we get dumped on that might suck! :icon17:

I want ZERO rain this weekend. Got a car to detail Sunday morning after the Kohl's C&C meet :|

eastwest2300 07-31-2014 09:06 AM

I think we're gonna be good, if any rain, it'll be in the afternoon..

RonRizz 07-31-2014 11:22 AM

I'm still in as a +1....she may bail if rain is involved though.

eastwest2300 07-31-2014 12:13 PM

rain or shine, it'll be fun.. anyone in for flag football?

dmhenderson 07-31-2014 12:15 PM

I think I'm going to bring my show/tent thing just in case. Can't have too many. Having two of them was a godsend a couple years back at P&S.

Especially considering I'm going to be sitting up there for a few hours before you guys arrive.
No dice for me on football. I tweaked my shoulder at the gym (again) and will have Frank with me anyway.

m4a1mustang 07-31-2014 12:22 PM

Do we know where exactly we'll be setting up for the BBQ?

dmhenderson 07-31-2014 12:25 PM

I dunno. Just call me I guess. I'm going to get there at 8 and ask someone where the picnic sites are and park there. You have my number, right?

10-4. I'll try either you, Mark, or b1ades. Hopefully we have cell service, but I can't imagine it'd be too hard to find where a couple Zs are parked. :rofl2:

dmhenderson 07-31-2014 12:35 PM

Ok I just called them to be on the safe side.

I am planning on using the Chestnut picnic area.

Easy directions:
From park entrance, head down Park Central Rd.
Pass the visitor's center
Approximately 10 minutes down the road, Chestnut picnic area will be on your right

Maps are available at the visitors' center.

This is me confirming my presence for Saturday!

Would be pretty cruddy if it rained but I'm just going to stay positive and hope for a cool dry day.

My buddy from work and his GF are going to be coming along in his BRZ. Not sure what they are bringing but they will pickup something we don't already have on the list. So I have a head count of 3 (maybe four if I get a confirmed yes for my extra seat but that's looking unlikely ATM).

As for food, I'm bringing some chicken kabobs and some beef kabobs along with some corn on the cob. Got some sauces and seasonings as well and I'm thinking about bringing a batch of Aji sauce I made last night. Came out alright, not as spicy as I would have liked it (should have used more jalapenos) and a not as thick since I ran out of mayo, but pretty decent nonetheless. There are some vegies on the kabobs (obviously) but I might stop and pick up some more pepers and onions - we'll see.

I are excite!!

MightyBobo 07-31-2014 08:05 PM

Ill be there regardless of rain.

dmhenderson 07-31-2014 08:19 PM

Forecast says rain early then clearing.

b1adesofcha0s 07-31-2014 09:19 PM

As long as it's not raining too hard, I think we may be ok. Canopies will definitely help if people are bringing them. I have updated the OP with the directions to the picnic spot.

DelawareTerp 07-31-2014 10:41 PM

The girlfriend and I are a definite for Saturday rain or shine. Driving out Friday afternoon to catch the O's game and was planning on getting a hotel in columbia after so we can join the cruise in the morning. Anyone know what the closest hotel to the Target is??

MightyBobo 07-31-2014 10:47 PM

Ingredients acquired for our potato salad and pasta salad. Now to whip up a side of some special hand-made white sauce to garnish on top...

Probably a hotel in Frederick would be your best bet.

Haha, he wants to go to the meet and cruise in columbia MD, I think he wants to stay around there.

Honestly theres a bunch of places in hanover near arundel mills. It's about 15 mins from the target.

Casey,
Shoot me a text later today and I can point you in the right direction.

Brian370 08-01-2014 08:03 AM

Oh, I'm also still in, sausages and buns.

jpkirk 08-01-2014 08:19 AM

Cooked the ribs last night. They now soak in beer infused, doctored, Bullseye original BBQ sauce (cooksillustrated favorite store bought). Also bought makings for beans last night, will buy makings for salsa tonight. Make salsa in the morning and then hit the road for the :driving: out of Columbia.

At least, that is the plan.

The ribs cooked while my son and I changed the oil in the Z. That was fun. I hope AK doesn't mind. I made changes to his DIY. I used a Deer Park bottle instead of an AuquaFina bottle.

That's a long drive to join the drive from Columbia. :icon17:
