Weather is looking pretty nice at the moment for the BBQ, keeping fingers crossed.

It cleaned up real nice. Install was a bit of a pain. Fitment was OK, needed a lot of messing around to get it right but we did and there are no leaks. Sounds great. It's way, way deeper than I remember it being but at least it doesn't drone like my FI did. Probably borderline loud for a DD but I am enjoying it. Can't wait to drive to work tomorrow morning.

Update on the exhaust: Have some fitment issues still. Mid pipe (resonators) are resting on the chassis cross brace adding a terrible resonance under 3k when it vibrates the hell out of the cabin. Apparently Ark says to use half an inch of washers to lower the brace and create clearance. Hopefully once I do that it cleans the sound up nicely.

I never had any issues with mine.. weird.

That happened to me also. I loosened all the bolts in the exhaust n put a block of wood under the exhaust to raise it up off the crossmember then tightened the bolts. Then removed to block of wood. It didn't rattle after I did that. The washer mod iv heard of others doing and it seemed to work. Let me know how it turns out.

It doesn't rattle at all, it just transmits a ton of vibration/resonance into the cabin at low RPM. More than normal (ridden in a couple Grip V2 cars,) since it's like the exhaust is bolted directly to the car versus being isolated by the rubber hangers. I think once I get it to clear it will get rid of that solid connection and it will go back to just exhaust sound and not exhaust vibration + sound.

We did jack the center section up when we tightened the bolts but it ended up resting on the brace once we dropped the jack. Hopefully I can get it fixed today or tomorrow. It does sound really good, it's just a little annoying at the moment.

It's a pain getting it adjusted so it doesn't hit the crossmember. I know it took me a few try's to get it not to vibrate on mine. The block of wood trick worked for me when I pulled the wood out I had enough room to slide my finger under it.

should have just went with FI. no fitment issues with those :tiphat: :stirthepot:

m4a1mustang 08-12-2013 08:54 AM

I'll have to get under there to adjust it again soon. I definitely can't keep driving it the way it is. I know once it's right it's gonna be real good, though.

BTDT. Hated the drone and the Ark has a much nicer high-rpm sound than the FI.
