We could make it a weekend. Camp for those who want to camp, Cabins for those who don't. I have a nephew about an hour away in Keyser WV. Could visit him and his wife on the way there or back.

Herrington Manor State Park connects to Swallow Falls State Park. The cabins at Herrington Manor are 1st Class; 2 - 4 - 6 person cabins. Full kitchens & baths, each stocked with cord of firewood, porch, porch swing, grills. It's a 3-1/2 hour drive for me from Baltimore. It is about 2900 feet elevation, and snow does happen often from late November to end February. Herrington Manor open year round and is a few miles from Deep Creek Lake, Wisp Ski Resort & Golf Course.
