I think everyone in that video was driving the RX7s except the guy with the video recorder who was in a RX250. He was sooo much faster than everyone else, driver weight can't be the only explanation. Either that or everyone else was driving like a bunch of pansies.

ZCarMan 03-25-2013 09:41 AM

Yes, what Andrew said makes sense.

Z Stig 03-25-2013 10:03 AM

Please sign up another guest. I'll be bringing Patrick H. along and he will be racing also.. He is an HPDE instructor and likes carting.

Thanks ZCarMan!

ZCarMan 03-25-2013 10:36 AM

So here is the scoop from the guy who runs the karting at Summit Point. If at any time you are able to qualify via your lap times, you are afforded the option to move up to the 250cc kart for a step up fee of $40.00 He says its not easy because you have to be very fast in the 390cc RX-7 kart to qualify.

So, there you have it.:tiphat:

RandyD 03-25-2013 10:45 AM

based on the vid - that cart has more power than the course can really handle.. he was squeeling and hopping everywhere..

eastwest2300 03-25-2013 10:49 AM

He was hauling azz..

The RX-7 karts are rated at 13HP and the 250cc karts are rated at 15-28HP so that would explain why that guy in the video was zipping all over the place. I could imagine it to be fairly easy to put yourself in the hurt locker with one of those if you missed a turn just a little bit.

ohhh yeah.:ugh2::ugh2:

MightyBobo 03-27-2013 11:28 AM

I'm perfectly fine w/ people starting with the RX7's...those 250cc's will kill someone in the wrong hands.

Masa 03-30-2013 08:41 PM

Hey Jon can you add my friend Kenny to the list of attending.

He used to be a forum member here (SolidKatfish) but he too suffered the curse of the red Z and traded it in for a Grabber Blue 5.0

ZCarMan 03-31-2013 06:21 AM

Ron, I added Kenny so you are good to go.

ZDaleyZ 03-31-2013 01:57 PM

Damn can't make it..maybe I should just call work and let them know I'm sick that day :icon14:

4r3s 04-01-2013 09:46 AM

Decided that I'm just going to suck it up and go to the bday party instead. Good close friends are tough to come by the older you get and I owe it to him and his wife to be there to help celebrate their little boy's first birthday party. Hope you all wreck in a glorious pile up have a great time!

Will there be any Columbia area premeets? Going to NOVA seems to be way out of the way to get to Summit Point, wouldn't mind meeting in Frederick or something either

I think Henry and Aniceh will be leaving from the Frederick area so I would check with them.

I'll be headed out from Crofton so I will be taking 50 to 495 to 267. The FFX location is not that far out of the way on my route so I will be joining up with the group there.

b1adesofcha0s 04-01-2013 11:57 AM

I'll be at the Main Circuit :|

Sales@AAMComp 04-01-2013 01:50 PM

chieuxuan 04-01-2013 02:14 PM
