Oh, if my door cards don't show up today NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO LOOK AT MY INTERIOR.

Or inside my car, even.

very good talking points!

Gotta have ammunition, I've found.

Walking away is a good tactic, don't get me wrong, but an educated buyer is their worst nightmare. If you KNOW the direct competitors to the vehicle you'd like to purchase, and specific details as to WHY they are a potential purchase to you, they cant refute that.

Knowing competitor pricing, horsepower, handling, practicality, and gas mileage are easy points to learn. I'd rather walk into a Nissan dealership and say, "I'd like to buy a 370Z - give me a good reason why I should give you $34000 of my dollars for a 330 horsepower 2-seater sports car, versus $30000 for a 2+2 "sports" car with north of 400 horsepower and it even has a real trunk?" Make it impossible to argue against you without conceeding their price.

At that point, you may as well say, "How about we start at Invoice pricing, and we'll go from there". If you can't get invoice pricing, you may as well walk. Competition is stiff for the Z right now.

I don't ever negotiate. I have a number and I just sit there until they agree to it.

1) Go to USAA's car buying service and get their guaranteed price which is usually awesome.

2) Use the Carfax thing that shows you what everyone in your zip code paid for the same car. If the USAA price is lower than the Carfax price, you're good. If not, look elsewhere.

I actually walked into a dealership when I was buying my 09' Z and had them refuse to give me the USAA price so I walked out and reported them to USAA. Every other time I've used the service, it has worked like a charm.
