I made it through emissions in my rx8 with a resonated test pipe and it was throwing a code. I did a battery disconnect just before entering the station and they hooked it up during the reset period when the cel was not on. It passed. Light came back on while driving home but i was good for another 2 years. And that car smelled like crap at idle. I took my passing emissions sheet and ran.

I too was worried when I went for my emissions test last month. I've got non res TP and no CEL (tuned by AAM), but the idle smell is pure race car. Passed no problem.

Hey I'm planning to get tuned at Hill's Next month what maps are you guys running? Does frank have the latest throttle maps or should I bring them to him? I'm guessing Hill's is the placed to get dyno tuned.

Is simply clearing a code/unplugging a battery really that unknown? I've done that several times for cars - my Z included (which was reading P0420, indeed), and my wife's Camry (same thing, oddly enough).

I thought EVERYONE did that...

I have not been there yet. Soon as I figure out where the evap system is leaking on my truck, I will though.

Guys have tried that in Va, but the few people that ive known still failed emissions and they didnt have CEL's either.

The tester hooked it up and it said that the rear o2 sensors were listed as "not ready" or something like that, so they failed.

Judging by my results, along w/ Shahid - if he's testing in MD, he'll probably be fine.

It's all just a stupid cash grab anyway.

We should be able to clear the codes without disconnecting the battery with the ODB device. I can control it from my phone or laptop.

This is the ODB adapter I bought

OBDLink MX Bluetooth Scan Tool

And here is the software I have for my phone

Torque
