Yeah I went for performance/cost over looks when I decided to stick with the base calipers. Saved like $1500 and mine brake better on the track (unless you get a similar brake pad on the bbk).

Many tend to think that the Sport brakes have more stopping power. This isn't really true. More fade resistance? Yes (although we could talk about how poorly the Akebono calipers dissipate heat relative to other 4-pot calipers). Stopping power is more a function of the tires. Put the Sport wheels on a base and it will stop just as quickly as a Sport package car. The Sport brakes can just do more repeated stops than the base before overheating.
