too damn hot to stand in a parking lot and too many projects to work on at home. I've spent the past 4 weekends refinishing my deck among other little projects. Refinishing the deck is worth paying someone else to do I've now decided, that's a lot of work if you want it done right.

VABAM 06-30-2014 06:39 PM

I'll be up in NoVA for the 4th and the weekend!
So I'll be at the Fairfax meet this coming weekend!:happydance:

This has taken up all of my weekends ever since I bought my new house. Don't think I'll be done with my "initial" set of DIY projects for another like 2-3 months at least.

4r3s 07-01-2014 08:40 AM

its never ending...

Yea ... try never ... never works.

New house = perpetual DIY projects

Yeah I've already reached the point of putting things off till later. Never seems like a pretty accurate timeframe. :icon17:

Amazing how much work a brand new home still needs isn't it?

Yeah it is. Though a lot of it is just personalizing it to how you lile it. Could have saved myself a lot of work if I had gone with the standard, but there's no fun in that.

I guess every one was busy. http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...mages/sigh.gif

No worries! :icon17:

Amir, who recently got his 370Z showed up.
We talked shop for a little while and got out of there around 11:30.

Unfortunately I found something that the dealer f'd up on his new Z. http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...mages/cry2.gif
I felt a little bad finding it.
At least it was found early on!
I'll let Amir share the details on the issue if he wants.

Nice meeting you Amir! :hello:
Hope things go well with the dealer!

The stupid dealer "knew" whats going on, but thought the owner would miss it. Which it looks like thats what happened, good luck Amir.

As VABAM mentioned the dealer used the wrong size screws to put on my license plate and now I have 2 small holes on my front bumper :shakes head:, now I just cant stop thinking about it.
Im going to the dealer tomorrow to talk to them about it. Hope they are cooperative and not give me a hard time.
But it was nice meeting you VABAM.

I'll get a photo tomorrow, but same thing happened to me and I used a suggestion I got here for using body panel plastic rivet thingies to plug the holes that looks quite natural. It really looks fine. Of course, I got the dealer to cough up a backup camera-rear view mirror combo to make me whole, which went along way to making me good with rivet thingies.

It wasn't the rivet holes he was talking about. The bolts the dealer used to attach the license plate to the mount are way too long. So now there are 2 gouges painted part of the bumper. If you look closely you can see the gap between the the upper part of the mount and the bumper due to the license plate screws pushing into the painted part.

Me too, but my dealer went further in destroying my bumper.

Had to file a claim with Nissan North America to get it fixed.
Dealer claimed that this was how Nissan North America told them to do it. :shakes head:
In the end Nissan replaced the bumped.

Stillen sells a nice one. Don't think it is the cheapest though. It is what I have. There are a number of threads that discuss this.

This thread has links to them.

You do get a stillen license plate frame with the $70 price..

Hi, Everybody I'm new in this forum. need to know if replacing the stock shock w/koni will improve the handling of the car & will I also need anything else beside koni? I'will appreciate the help, and also where will I get it in a reasonable price. Thanks!

takjak2 07-07-2014 08:37 AM

A stiffer front swaybar is the best bang for your buck. Konis are nice but your stock dampers by themselves aren't bad

site:the370z.com best suspension mods

:google:

Lots of maybe useful info on the site. The site's search engine is just not as efficient.

Didn't use it. Maybe I'll put it on the back to get rid of the dealer frame. I'm letting my church's frame lead the way. :driving:

Hello guys...I am in the process of buying a 370z. The first thing that I noticed was that it was much quieter than the 350z's that I was used to hearing...So, I will be getting an exhaust right away. I am debating between the HKS and FI 18" resonated one, but I really want to hear em in person before I decide.

Wondering if anyone in the DC area has either one and would be willing to meet up sometime for me to hear it?

m4a1mustang 07-07-2014 01:12 PM

Come to a Saturday meet! We have a ton of different exhausts. We had a member with HKS long ago that sounded very nice. I have had FI and, aside from the intense drone, sounded great!

Sweet, I'll try my best to make it out to the next one. My fear is that the FI drones alot and the fanboys just don't want to admit it, which is why I really want to hear it in person. On the other hand, the HKS is 2100 shipped :-/ Both pieces look like they are pretty high quality and everyone likes them. Reading all of the threads has just given me a headache lol

You might also look through this sticky...

Or yea, a Saturday gathering as well. However, make sure you check a day or two ahead to see who is coming out. Attendance is great sometimes, but sometimes not. Fairfax get's better than Columbia so far this year.

I loved the sound but hated the drone on mine. Extended highway trips sucked.
