Visited Ares Armor store in National City while in San Diego for business last week.

For those not familiar with their struggle against their local government:

Got to meet Dustin and Ryan from the vid.

Bought one of their Effin-A MKII 308 comps, an Anza Boddington Knife (might be the one Nutn handled in the video) and some misc. AR-15 parts.

Unfortunately, California's struggle is a repeating theme for many states these days. The issue in CT is worth checking out too (basically a line in the sand is being drawn regarding confiscation of unregistered firearms).

In addition to all this, trade sanctions with Russia may limit the availability of 7.62. Just when ammo was being restocked. I don't own an ak, but for those of you who do, I'd limit how much range time they see until this blows over.

Put some new furniture on the VEPR this past weekend. Chaos quad rail, Vortex Razor Red Dot, Aluminum grip with flashlight. Not sure if this will remain this way but we'll see.

Looks like Ares Armor was threatened with an ATF raid for their customer list but were able to file a temp restraining order to prevent them from coming and taking. They wanted to find out who purchased those 80pct lowers.

the restraining order issued by the government on a government entity is interesting. Not sure how that really works.

What ever came out of the Columbia Mall shooting? Things went quiet on that real quick. As far as I know they never found any type of connection or motive which would explain why there hasn't been much talk about this. I'm also surprised there hasn't been a huge movement to ban all guns...again...

See, that is BEYOND BS. An 80% lower is a paper weight until milled out. Pretty soon you're going to need to register your 3D printer (not implying anyone here has one) with the ATF as well.

I'm so sick of people not seeing exactly what's going on here. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but it's just so humiliating to think that the American people are about to have THE MOST important right stripped from them... and they couldn't care less.

I always tell people on facebook, that the only reason they can express their cute anti-2A opinion is because the 2nd Amendment exists in the first place! Without the 2nd Amendment, the other Amendments have no teeth. The 2nd Amendment was so grave in importance that when the Constitution was drafted, the founding fathers thought it was so obvious and redundant that they didn't think they should have included it.

How glad I am that they did.

Rant over. :tiphat:

I heard the young man had told his doctor that he was hearing voices and the investigation had found he was on the computer visiting all kinds of websites that had stuff about mass shootings and he was reading all about Columbine. He timed the shooting to start at the same time as Columbine. Its just weird how many young people are batshit crazy and in need of help, but for some reason can't get it.

R.I.P. 7N6 Surplus 5.45x39. At least you can still purchase commercial rounds or any 7N6 surplus that is already in the U.S.

Jon on top of things again! I saw this last night. Ironic, as I just convinced my buddy NOT to buy a 5.45 DI AR conversion not but a few weeks ago. The ban is on steel core (equivalent to xm855/green tip 5.56). This isn't any biggie in the sense that most places won't let you step onto their ranges with any steel core ammo, but it's a start to banning ammunition.

I know lead core is still good to go, and there are several manufacturers state side who still make 5.45.

The 7N6 is corrosive so you have to clean your rifle after using it, but it was so dirt cheap (2160 round crate for approximately $346.00) that it made sense to have some, okay a lot, say for the Zombie Apocalypse.

The other commercial manufacturers will fill the gap. Golden Tiger, Brown Bear, Red Army Standard are still producing commercial non-corrosive, so not the end of the world. Just sucks to see one more of the "death by a thousand cuts" scenario taking place.

Besides, Classic Firearms just reduced their price on the VEPR 12 by $200.00!! That always happens to me. LOL

5.45 is still REALLY dirty and caused most trial weapons to choke and malfunction. I agree with everything in your post! The ban on ammunition begins with this import ban. It's exhausting to keep repeating the "shall not be infringed" section of the 2nd amendment...

Even though its dirty, I don't see it being any problem so long as you either a: clean your rifle after using, to remove the corrosive salts, or b: own a AKM variant, like an Arsenal and clean it after shooting the corrosive stuff. What trial weapons are you referring to that choked and malfunctioned?

I did hear that IWI decided to not make a 5.45x39 kit for the Tavor. That sucks. Maybe down the road they'll do it.

Its officially banned from importation now:

So Michael Bloomberg announced in an interview yesterday that he was starting a new group called "Everytown for Gun Safety" and was going after the NRA using grassroots tactics. He indicated he was willing to spend $50 million to fight the NRA and the gun lobby. However, someone forgot to tell Mr. Bloomberg that nobody thought to register their new group's FB page under the new name. A fast thinking pro 2A gun activist quickly registered the page and already has over 20,000 likes!
