Silver Eagle Group?

Has anybody been to the Silver Eagle Group in Ashburn, and can you tell me anything about their shooting range?

m4a1mustang 01-22-2012 07:09 PM

I've heard of it but have never been.

Lets google it.

eastwest2300 01-22-2012 08:33 PM

Silver Eagle Group Firearms, Martial Arts, Self Defense Training Academy

$25 per hour for one shooter, an additional $15 for up to 2 shooters per lane from what I read.

m4a1mustang 01-22-2012 08:34 PM

They are more expensive and no better than BRA from the looks of it.

How much is this other place?

Man, doesnt someone around here have some land, you could just go shoot your weapons on their private property?

m4a1mustang 01-22-2012 08:46 PM

$20 at Blue Ridge Arsenal. $10 for each additional shooter up to 4 people per lane.

That sounds like a better deal.

VaGntlmn 01-22-2012 09:46 PM

Blue Ridge is cheaper, and the lanes are only 25 yds long.
NRA in Fairfax is 18/hour; 12 for an extra person, and are 50 yds long.
But I cant find anything on the Silver Eagle lanes,.

m4a1mustang 01-22-2012 09:47 PM

NRA is usually hella busy. I've just been going to BRA. Though it sucks being limited to only 25 yards with an AR. :icon17:

Thanks for the comment about NRA, and I understand about the 25yd limitation at BRA, - that's why I'm looking for longer.

eastwest2300 01-23-2012 11:09 PM

Dude, I really dont care if its 25 yards, I just wanna fire my new sh*t.. you know, break in my AR and Remington 870..

Silver Eagle Group

So I called Silver Eagle Group in Ashburn today (Trooper - that comment was aimed at you - what happenned with PSA?), and asked them about their Range.
Here's what I got:
Range:
• 30 lanes
• two 25 yd ranges; one 50yd range
• (I assume 10 lanes / range?)
Rates:
• 25/hour first person
• + 15/hour each additional person
• Max 3 people / lane
Limitations
• Under 50 caliber
• Shotguns – only slugs
Note: You can “set” a distance for the target on the lane (so they are at least slightly automated)
Membership: $100 + 35/month (month to month after 3 months)
In case anybody else is interested.

m4a1mustang 01-25-2012 06:03 PM

Is a membership required to use the lanes or does it just give discounts on the lane fees?

eastwest2300 01-26-2012 02:09 AM

If money grew on trees.. this whole general area is sucha rip-off.

MightyBobo 01-26-2012 01:06 PM

Horray for 25% discount w/ Brownells.com :-p

TROOPER 01-26-2012 01:15 PM

According to the Urban Dictionary:

Quote:

piitb is from an unknown origin but gained popularity on MustangWorld.com throughout the late 90's and into today.
So it should have come from Steve :roflpuke2:

Brand new with 2 Italian magazines, and the barrel lock (MD laws suck), was $600 even

Aaahhh good question... this is where it gets cloudy and complicated LOL.

OK the difference between the 92 and the M9 is one is the civilian version (92) and one is the Military version (M9)

The main difference there between the 92 and M9 are the roll markings on the side of the gun.

The 92 says "Read the owners manual" LMAO.

And I beleive the 92 comes with a plastic guide rod, and the M9 has a steel guide rod. (and the rail as you mentioned)

Now the new "M9A1" model, also has a new internal buffer to reduce recoil, and the take-down lever also swings back into place on its own, when you place the slide back on and rack it.

The M9A1 also has the new and improved Italain made magazines that have a better coating to prevent issues with dirt/grit/sand, as experianced during Afghanistan/Iraq.

m4a1mustang 01-27-2012 10:30 AM

"Read the owners manual." That's almost as bad as my gf's Ruger LC9.

The ginormous chambered round indicator says, "LOADED WHEN UP."

HI Guys,

I know the risks of posting this after knowing how hardcore everone on this thread is but I am hopeful to get very good info...

I have been wanting to get an Airgun pistol, something that I can take to a shooting range once in a while to get started, I have been very fond of guns since childhood, used to have an airgun rifle when I was a kid.

So far I have looked at a few different brands... crossman / daisy etc.

I am wanting to get one that has:
- atleast 400 + FPS
- semi automatic
- full metal, and
something that can shoot copper pellets or copper & plastic BB's ...

Is there one or some that you guys would recommend, I am thinking of spending under 100 for this...

Thanks,
jay

m4a1mustang 01-29-2012 07:11 PM

I don't know of any range that will let you shoot an air gun? You could just get a regular gun. :)

but with a regular gun... arent the law's more strict about carrying it (mainly to the range) etc... Also what if a real gun gets stolen? Just seemed easier to have a powerful airgun for "security" and some range time.. however it seems like i might have to first check if there is a range around that will allow using an airgun..
