yah, the owners' manual apparently says to measure 15min after shutting off car or something (so i read on someone's post, i think), but i just check every weekend before starting the car. my Z is always hooked up to the battery manager during the weekday so the hood is unlocked and partially open on the secondary latch. ![]() so it's very easy for me to check the oil level anyway. i also check other vital fluid levels from passenger side to driver side... steering, coolant, brake, clutch. steering and coolant should be in the mid to high mark, brake can be anywhere within the max/min (level decreases as your pads wear), and clutch fluid should be at the max at all times. tattle tale sign for csc failure is if you notice the clutch fluid level dropping.
