I pre-ordered my copy the other day. I haven't even had my PS3 on for 9 months but I will be dusting it off for this game.

Oh, believe me, I fully understand why it makes no financial sense. I mean, in reality instead of waiting 6 months, they should just wait 14 and do a Nov. '10 release. They aren't REALLY going to lose fans. People say "screw them" now, but when the game hits, those same people's wallets will be $60 lighter. I guarantee.
I don't care either way seeing as I have a goal of getting 100%(with the exception of all gold on license test because I'm using a controller) on my old GT4 before GT5 is released. I'm at 54.7%. :icon14: |
I bet Duke Nukem will come out way before this does!

I've been playing Gran Turismo since it's inception on PS1, but although they keep bumping back the release dates, I'd much rather them release it fully bug free and with plenty of content. The problem with games now adays is the vast majority are released in almost beta format (especially PC games). I've also read that the PS3 car models can take months PER CAR to model/render, especially when they are doing interiors now. Factor in almost 1000 cars and go figure...

According to Tokyo Auto show the game is "65%" complete - whatever the hell that means... but honestly - its not going to matter when it comes out... it will do really well...

the game looks great other than the lack of effort they have put into the damage physics. i honestly think that the original forza has better damage physics that GT5
YouTube - GC2009 GT5 Damage effect love how the door swings open when the opposite side of the car hits the wall. still will probably pick this game up though just not sure if i will be able to tolerate the need for speed damage physics they put in it. |
The new one is supposed to have a really good damage engine... the old GT games had 0 damage - and thats 0 - so you hit a wall or another car... it pretends nothing happened except for some course correction due to clipping the other car... the new game will hopefully have better graphics... but i care not as i mostly drive it for time trials sake etc...
