What does that mean? Nothing, seeing as how the GT series has been selling since '98 and has like 6 different games out compared to 2 Forzas.

But thanks for posting that up... shows that Forza 2 stomped GT5P in critic's ratings. Also shows a downward trend in the ratings for the GT series. Good job Cleo.

300ShooTTer 10-04-2009 03:25 PM

GT5P is basically a demo...When's the last time you've seen a demo of a game SELL 3.15 million copies at $60 a pop?

Also, 9.4, 9.2, 9.5, 8.7(GT5P is not included because it's not a full release). I fail to see how up, down, up(highest), down is a downward pattern. If you had argued that the latest release of GT did much worse than the 1st 3 of the series, then you would have a valid point.

Oh, and if you average out GT series, they average 9.2. Forza only manages 9.15. I like how you try to compare a full game to a game that only has maybe 15% of the total content...But hey, at least you can live life knowing both of your precious Forza games scored higher than GT4 in the critic's rating. Congrats on beating the least innovative game of the series, lol.

I thought I killed this thread.
Well if you want my real 2 cents they're incredibly similar games with the platform only being the real difference. And seeing as I can only afford one my choice has been made.

My only other observation is that the in-game 370Z must be modified, because I don't think burying the speedometer in 4th gear is possible, unless the photo was shot after a 2-gear, potentially gear shattering downshift.

LOL you seriously lack in the intelligence field which is mainly responsible for your failing brain. This fanboy nub doesn't realize GT5p demo sold 1 million shy of Forza 2 full game. I'm just curious how you even think your responses are any where near relevant. He compares critic scores of a full game to a demo.

While your at it make sure to clearly read the sales chart. Every GT has averaged 10 million sold. Your Forza has 5 million total in 2 games.

You are a sad and pathetic person indeed. You should be medicated ASAP.

Don't waste your time, he's a fan boy who doesn't understand common knowledge. He'll probably call you a name like he calls me cleo, since he knows he get's owned on every response.

I have not read all the pages in this thread, but have had a lot of seat time with both games. The physics on Forza are waaayyyyyy better than GT. GT looks waaaayyyy more clean than Forza though, and they have good force feedback steering wheels (G25), which gives them the win in my opinion. What's the point of a racing sim without a USB FB steering wheel?
The buttons on the PS3 controller are pressure sensitive, but the wheel, pedels, and FB take it to a whole new level of simulation. Pair that with a sim cockpit, and digital TV, and the fun factor goes waaayyyyy up.

I think Prologue was a cash grab that was way overpriced for what we got. I was more than seriously disappointed with it. Polyphony really has taken too long to bring this game to market. Every fall the rumor mill starts that the game is coming for x-mas, or spring, and it never does. I agree that this launch has been an epic failure. You can't drag out the launch of a game for 3 years, unless the game is going to be the second coming.... And I truly hope that it is. I hope they finally get the physics right, and that it's not just a re-hash of GT4.

All that being said.... I'm sure I'll be in the sim seat in time attack mode the first week it comes out.

Your opinion is exactly what I respect, I don't want to argue points and go search up topics to prove points. I'm glad you see the two games the way you see them and have an honest opinion about both. In my eyes I believe GT5 will change video games and racing sims to the point we have wished to see. PD have the all the credit and sales to prove it, but with 5 years in the making i'm am more then sure this game is not your average game. This is a game to set new limits TRUST ME I promise you.

shabarivas 10-06-2009 04:38 PM

here is my take : forza simulates and shows MANY more physical interactions between road and car... however- they do not have a physics system thats precise enough to actually make the car behave as it would on a road... my problem w/ Forza - they try too many things which makes it unrealistic but w/ GT you get incremental differences which have been carefully calibrated / tested
