for the most part, rust on rotors are considered 'normal' for most folks.

but not the end of the world after the replacement. you can wire brush the rust off, clean it off real well with some RC car motor spray, mask off the area where the rotors make contact with the pads, and spray away using matte black duplicolor engine enamel paint.

i dont know if you even need to use primer. i say this cause i used primer last year on my dd to paint the center hub, and it chipped away.

the previous fit, i painted it directly without primer and it held for 5yrs.
