My other rims are dirty at the moment (keeps raining too), so I can't really say 100% that it's a different colour.

I may sit down in the garage today and clean up the rims to compare. :eekdance:

It was hard to tell when I took delivery, because I didn't have anything to compare it to.

Well that sucks  I would definitely sit down and clean them for comparison asap. If it's not acceptable, I would go back to them immediately. Also, I would take two tires with you so they can see for themselves that it's not right.

Thanks for the love guys.:tiphat: It was amazing because when I posted it on Facebook, all my friends from Minnesota said, "...that had to happen in the Fargo side. Minnesotans would NEVER do something like that!" and they were very much right :icon17:

(Fargo/Moorhead is like a twin-cities area, 1/2 on each side of the Red River of the North - Fargo, ND and Moorhead, MN)

I may just take the car down there and bite the bullet and have them throw on the spare. :shakes head:

It's going to look awful, but I can't go without a car for another two days.

Yeah, that sucks. I was kind of wondering how you were getting around (I didn't think you had two cars). I had the spare tire on my Z and was driving it back to the dealership about 20 min after driving it away from the dealership on Day 1. I can confirm it does look terrible :icon17:

I wouldn't count on it, but maybe you can get them to pay for a rental for a day or two. Never hurts to ask.

And no, it's not rock damage. The scratches specifically begin just behind the door handle.

That very much sucks and makes me crazy to look at it. The brazen bull is too good a fate for people who do this.

I'm afraid to ask.

I absolutely hate doing what I already did and am going to have to do again - complaining to a shop, because it wasn't done right the first time.

The problem is to get what you want, you often have to be a harda$$. Most of the time, if you start out polite and only get tough when they dig in their heels, you can get somewhere. However, worst case is when they are just pricks to begin with, and you end up burning any bridge you might have been able to cross when you get upset.

Don't. Think of it this way, if the shop hired competent employees and had good QC, this wouldn't happen. However it did, and they should make it right.

That being said, since this is a chain (discount tire right?), if you don't get what you need dealing with the local shop, move it up the line. Go to the regional manager.

wtf. sorry to see this. :( ive had like 6-7 cars all brand new get key'ed in the past. even my current dd which i bought new got keyed within 200miles on the odo. :shakes head:

this is one of the many reasons why i never take my hobby cars to the stores... cause general public are general idiots. but remember, karma always comes around and bites the f-kers in the arse. :D

hummmm... that's a tuff call, arriving at the store not having anything to compare to.. you trust people too much, haboob.

take the lead, you make the decisions for yourself, not let some dumbarse tell you wat to do. :)
