Got my wheel back and I'm not sure I'm happy.

My other wheels are dirty at the moment (keeps raining too), so I can't really say 100% that it's a different colour.

I may sit down in the garage today and clean up the rims to compare. :eekdance:

It was hard to tell when I took delivery, because I didn't have anything to compare it to.

fixed :shakes head:

Played with a bimmer on the way home :driving: Didn't realize we were playing till his tires started squealing like crazy as soon as the light turned green. I took him easily in first (thanks to his show) with zero tire squeal and had him a good way through 2nd. But he was obviously pulling on me and got a little over a car length in front before I made a 3rd to 6th shift and cruised back a little closer to the speed limit. He ended up turning left very shortly after I backed off. Oil temps increased noticeably in the short run, so I was reminded that I need an oil cooler - I have been driving it pretty easy lately both because of the hot weather and in an attempt to preserve tire tread as much as possible.

He was not in the lane next to me, so I figure that means it's just two guys who happen to be accelerating fast from a green light independently :tiphat:

And no, it's not rock damage. The scratches specifically begin just behind the door handle.

:shakes head: that's just dickish

I am expecting a check from a side job I did last year (government work takes forever to pay :ugh2:). They usually go straight to the credit card if necessary or savings, but my plan was to pull about $1K from it for mods and maintenance :yum: Unfortunately, we hadn't heard anything about it until a few months ago when they said they approved the invoice. But apparently still have to sign off on it, process it, and issue it before it actually goes in the mail - fvcking bureaucratic bs  Then the firm that I contract through writes me a check. It'll probably be Christmas before I get it :(
