Sent from my iPizzle using magic and new-fangled science stuff

Thinking about picking the D5100 up while I'm up in Chicago.

Ohhh, okay. That makes sense.

I'm used to hearing stories about one drunken night, tried to jump over a spiked metal fence... yadda yadda. (true story from a friend... sliced'em right open).:eek:

Or you met some crazy lady at one time and she found a knife. :eekdance:

On the side, I help do admin for a company that holds airplane titles. Our clients are foreign airlines who buy Boeing airplanes. Lion Air is located in Singapore, and one of the more difficult time differences with which to coordinate calls. Other clients include Ryanair in Ireland and Etihad Airways in UAE. Luckily, I don't have to deal with those calls very often.

Lion Air had a crash recently i saw...weird that i have never seen the name before and now i hear you are associated. Cool peeps i know

I was torn between the D5100 and the Rebel t3i from Canon. I ended up going with the t3i but they are both great entry level dslr.

Also, not sure where you plan to buy, but the best prices I have seen anywhere were always on Amazon.

T3 was a great camera as well. the largest "noticeable" difference will be the swivel screen. The features and pictures they take are comparable.

From what I read, you should play with the cameras you are looking at. Unless your a professional, most of these cameras' performance will be on par, so you should find the one you like the best as far as size, weight, grip, layout of buttons, menus, etc.

Actually we're dealing with some legal fallout where one of their planes ran into another plane on the ground lol. Of course, we're completely insulated. Our purpose is a middle man to hold the title while the airline pays off the note. This is to protect the American company Boeing from a foreign company defaulting and leaving Boeing with no recourse to reclaim money or the plane.

Heat shrinking connections.
Aircraft wires get soldered...autos get heat shrink. ;)

I might be just messing around with 'em and making a decision, but yeah the purchase would likely be online. I'll just have the time to do it in the evenings while up there.

I think one of the things that's a nice feature on the D5100 is the sliding switch that changes from still shots to video. It's more convenient than twisting the mode dial on the T3i.

When I'm not testing or half-a$$ing an install, I typically solder the wires together and then heatshrink them

:icon14: I have always soldered any splice. Though, I haven't had to do much, or any, splicing in putting anything in the dash previously.

Still,!

I think that's the problem. When I click on the URL it's to the mobile site, then the browser doesn't know how to interpret the address, because it's not a mobile device.

So, since it's up on your YouTube page already, if you browse to it on your PC you should be able to grab that "Share" URL and post it here.

When I opened up the page on a computer, there was a link at the top for either Mobile or Desktop.
Click the Desktop link and it looks like YouTube normally does on a computer.

I haven't yet used the video feature on my dslr. Most of the time that's where my phone/gopro come in. especially since both of those take 1080P video as well.

So nice to drive the Z to work today without the wife next to me going "OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!"

Of course I was driving at or below the speed limit while maintaining a proper following distance, using my turn signals, and not accelerating rapidly or making any unsafe lane changes, as always. :ugh2:
