sounds good. yah, i only use a very thin coat when i do paint it. no issues with vibration as the paint get squashed.

im not sure how people are hydroplaning in their Z's. ive tested several different tires on my Z already in a downpour at 60mph + i could not get the car to hydroplane. 36psi. factory RE050A's were fine, DW's are fine, YokAdvans are fine.

same deal with my G. ive had that car for 9yrs now, not once have i felt her hydroplane. ive driven it through heavy rain too on the expressway. S03, RE050A, S04, Pilots, etc. and even icey conditons using LM60's.

either their tread is low, psi is setup wrong, suspension is setup all wrong, using cruise control in the rain, etc.

I assume it's low tread. I have been on the highway in some of the craziest rain in the Z when it was relatively new (tires with good tread) and it handled itself flawlessly.

yah, i think so too. seems like most folks dont know how to handle and maintain RWD cars, and quick to blame the RE050a's. while they aren't as grippy as the RE050a pole positions were, they worked fine in heavy rain on the expressway.

The Z is my first RWD car, so I think people just drive with lead feet. or speed in the rain 2x

I've hydroplaned in the Z in the OEM tires as I was braking for a yield sign. The tires were bald, which in conjunction with the rain is why I was driving it instead of my wife at the time (new tires ordered but not yet arrived). The left turn light turned green as I was approaching, so I had to yield to them and pressed the brake a bit too hard and the rear let loose. The first car was probably a little freaked cause the car went pretty sideways since I had already started around the curve, but I corrected, recovered, and stopped well before the lanes converged.

tirerack has a neat vid showing how braking distance change vs a new tire, tire with 4/32 left and 2/32 left in the wet.

the 2/32 is disasterous.

I'm pretty sure I was at 2/32 or worse when my above incident occurred. They were pretty much slicks by the time I got them replaced

yah, that's going to be tough to stop.

reminds me of this one chick long time ago that was 'coaching' me for how to mod a car and she was talking about wheels (she had no f-king idea wat offset was ), driving in the light snow with pretty much slicks , and crashing (well deserved. ).
