Canada recently ended circulation of the penny.

The brutal thing is watching these idiot kids try to figure out how much change to give back. They already can't count money.

Oh, the Canadian government is also saying that the above is merely a guideline. If a business wants to round up every transaction they can.

I consider myself a bit of numismatist, though I haven't actually purchased any coins in a number of years. I would never collect coins that didn't make it into circulation unless they were uncirculated versions of actual circulated money. I inherited a few coins that are tributes to former presidents, but I would never go out of my way to purchase that kind of coin. In fact, my grandfathers (from whom I inherited many of my older US coins) and now myself, take pride that the majority of the collection was pulled from circulation ourselves :tup:
