Okay, so you got a chip - GET OVER IT. Whether it happens on day one or day 1,000, it still hurts. I got a HUGE divot in my hood on the way to Nismo Fiesta last year that would require the entire hood to be painted. Screw it.

There is no perfect car. This from THE biggest car Nazi on earth. Just ask mrs. gurney about my parking habits. Here's her "Hit List"

Brand new (two day old) 97 Ford Explorer - pulled out of the garage before the door was all the way up. Took door off the hinges and roof rack off the truck.

Brand new (day I picked-up the car!) 01 Honda Odyssey - dropped car off at her office. She proceeds to park and pulls up too close to a wire fence and punched 23 (yes I remember the number to this day) little holes in the front bumper. Found out State Farm insurance does not cover marriage counseling.

Brand new (one week) 07 MDX comes home with a large dent in the back fender and yellow paint (what they paint parking poles with). Apparently someone was walking around with a baseball bat and a wrag to smear yellow paint on cars that day.

Brand new (one day) 12 CR-V comes home with not one, but two curbed rims.

So is anyone still wondering why she doesn't drive the Z?

im going have to pull the male-escort-prostitot-LSMike now and up one: :icon17:

brand new dd = smashed by UPS truck at 650miles on odo

another brand new dd = 3 panels keyed at local discount store at 500miles on odo

my previous hobby car = shopping cart smashed into fender and door.
my other previous hobby car = curbed wheel by dealer the day i picked up car.

my G brand new at the time = rock chip on bumper first drive on weekend.

my current brand new dd = keyed at 200miles

ive owned over 20 new cars and every single one of them had damage of some sort. including my current 370Z. a sesame sized dent in front bumper. :crying:

so im kinda protective of my G and Z...

ok.... some of you may nit find this is funny.... :wtf2:

Unless it involves a person, we should laugh at the bad things like chips and scratches we can't control, because at the end of the day, the scratch is still there.

I'm just saying that $400 i spent 3 weeks ago could have just been a seibon hood instead.

And you've already been ignoring me anyway, you have BC. So thanks for the dad advice but I'm still upset and will be. I feel like I just threw away money.

ms.bc- it's great that you appreciate the things you have and the people around you.

some folks just take everything for granted.

And you'd have a carbon fiber hood with a chip in it that can't be repaired easily. I feel your pain, I'm just saying it's not worth the grief. Get it fixed and cover it with a clear bra in a couple of weeks.

BTW - if you park outside a lot, those cf hoods take on a brown tint.
