Hola!

I have a glass block window in my bathroom and a working bathtub. It's gonna be a good weekend.

Hope all y'all are doing well, you're in my thoughts if you're not in my web browser. :D

JARblue 02-15-2013 09:23 AM

I should add that in the past 10 years or so, I have worked on about 15 failed external hard drives given to me by various friends. About 25% of the time, the drive is recoverable in some fashion, though only once was I able to leave the drive in the enclosure. I always recommend a NAS (Network Attached Storage) running a RAID 1 or 5 with reliable enterprise-level hard drives with 5 yr warranty. Two of my friends EACH had four external drives fail before they finally broke down and had me build a RAID 5 NAS for them.

Oh, it's not finished... Today is the end of the 4th week.

There was an issue with the window. The glass block manufacturer changed their "diamond" pattern to a new pattern which is almost completely transparent rather than the prismatic type of pattern it had before. Like, I could have charged admission to watch my wife shower behind this. :ugh2:

So we found a local company that would build the window in-place and he actually had the right blocks ready to go. They did that yesterday.

My guy has been waiting on that window to finish out the durock in the shower and tile it. He's got most of the floor tiled, new ceiling fan/light, etc so it's coming along, but that damn window was a big hold-up.

But... I can at least take a bath in there, and I don't have to thumb tack a trash bag to the window frame every night. :bowrofl:

Davey 02-15-2013 09:34 AM

And I forgot to add... The fact that it's almost Z-weather is a good part of my positive attitude. Yeah, it's going to rain and even have a little snow this weekend but temps are on the up-swing into the 40's/50's so if we get a couple of good rains I can start getting my baby out for an occasional drive!

 How much did you make on the peep shows of your wife? :bowrofl: Just kidding... hope it's all finished up and contractors get out of your hair soon

Looks like my Z time for the weekend includes a thorough detaling and a cruise on Sunday where...................ready for this.........................it's really big news....................I mean REALLY BIG NEWS.....................make that EARTH SHATTERING NEWS.......................................
mrs. gurney MAY take the wheel of the Z for the first time.

Maybe.

Yes, you heard it here first. :icon17:

In all my OCD glory, I have thoroughly managed to intimidate the woman that has never been intimidated in her life. After a string of nice cars, including an RX-7, a Supra, an Integra, and an Acura CL Type-S, mrs. gurney slipped into Mommy transportation mode with a series of child-cargo vehicles, and has ended-up today with a 2012 CR-V.

She has refused to drive the Z, and has rarely even ridden in it. We'll see if I can get her behind the wheel this weekend. I will keep you all posted.

Have a great weekend all, and safe travel back home to the family mr. onzedge. I sincerely hope you can make it down to Houston one day so that mrs. gurney and I can show you some displaced Louisiana hospitality and cooking. :tiphat:

Might hear lots of "OMG" from Mrs.gurneyeagle through the motoring... :icon17:

Unplugging, rebooting, restoring to last week... hammer, duct tape... :ughdance:

Have you try plugging the HD into another computer and see what happen?

Damn that sucks, but you are almost there!

I only work half days on fridays when we aren't doing OT. It takes 3 months to do each job, so the last month or so we work all week which sucks cause I am never home:shakes head:. But the first couple months is nice :ugh2: I guess.......(hard when you like $$$ to though :roflpuke2:)

The possibility is there. If the moons align with the date of the cruise, Mrs.Force's schedule, and my schedule, I'm in

Has the company even been notified of the non-delivery, or are people just content with whining?

They have been notified by hundreds if not thousands on Facebook. No one could get through to a store yesterday and most stores took their phones off the hook. I just spoke with someone at the store and supposedly it's out for delivery again. I'm getting something made on the 13th and that's possibly out of a fridge for a few hours yesterday.

I'd say screw it and just get your money back. That's a huge fail on their parts. That's one of their best days of the year and they totally dropped the ball.

Sorry you didn't get your gift. :(

JARblue 02-15-2013 12:51 PM

Note to self: start new delivery service and advertise big for next Valentine's Day. Take orders all the way through the evening of the 13th. Close the business the morning of the 14th. Profit.

GoDaddy has an excellent online storage solution for backing up photos and such (smaller files). It's less than $15 per year for 100GB  The product is just called Online Storage.
