yah, textured drywall is nearly impossible to match. my drywall was just regular flat drywall, but i couldn't get the paper tape(?) and putty to blend flat to the rest of the wall. i just suck. after a few years i wanted to paint the room so i removed the tape and hot glued the piece into the wall, then puttied the parting line, sanded, and painted. then looked no more hide-with-picture trick. lol @ super pipe wrench! yah, my plumbing tool is my phone.
