2yrs ago my wife severely hurt her back and she could not get out of bed for days. that's when mr.gurney taught us about the exercise. wife slowly but gradually gained movement. she's been doing well since.

every morning i do the exercise followed by other warm up exercises.
gettign up even earlier (Like 4 am earlier ) back feeling better but not as much as I would expect...maybe I should go see chiropractor on Friday (my day off)...ugh.

Funny thing is, I don't find Waffle House all that cheap for what it is. Breakfast for two always ends up being around $20.
I can go to a greasy spoon diner and get a way better breakfast (or fourthmeal) for more like $12.
It's not the $8... It's the poor ROI of the Waffle House experience LOL!

While I have other methods to loosen-up your back, I must refrain from commenting further in respect to ms. pint. She may be small, but I'm pretty sure she can kick my ***.

Seriously ms. bc, if that is still even possible, the source of most lower back pain is mis-alignment of the hips. As the hip displaces (ever so slightly), the back muscles tighten-up to hold it in palce.

I was bed-ridden for two weeks awhile back. When I rolled out of bed (literally) to get out of bed, my hip popped loudly and I could walk for the first time in those two weeks.

A friend who is a physical therapist came to check-up on me and was amazed that I was walking around. After a few questions, he explained that when I broke my leg severly when I was 12, that leg was ever so slightly shorter than my other leg, and over time, opened-up my hip socket (microscopically). If I twisted just the wrong way, like trying to pick something up while leaning over and twisting, my hip displaced and my back tightened-up.

Be careful when you pick-up or pull things. The last time I ever hurt my back, I was washing my car!

Glad you are feeling better.

i have had issues w hip misalignment but am careful to take care to sit and stand correctly (both feet not leaning etc). I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out what i did.

You literally could have bent over to pick something up and just twisted the wrong way at the right time.

If you religiously do those stretching exercises, I seriously doubt you will have major pain again. My back still gets sore if I stand too long, or sit on a hrad floor, but nothing like it used to feel.

OMG! You've described my wife PERFECTLY! What did you do to help re-align your hips (if anything)? Sounds kinda permanent.
