Met a fellow forum member today to get an OEM start button for R&D  Nice guy and even came by the house; goes by the name of darkside and has some real nice pics he took today up in the on-topic thread. While he was over, I was showing him the steering fuse lock location and noticed my negative battery terminal was looser than it should be, so I took care of that. :) I opened up the start button and that LED really is tiny. I've never had the tools to work with such small devices, so I went out to Altex and pick up a new soldering iron and some replacement 1/32" flat and conical tips. I'm looking forward to using them :D On another note, that trip was about 3-3.5 hours ago. I just realized that I forgot to replace the battery compartment cover (it was sitting on my workbench), and while I had the hood open, I noticed the coolant was actually below the min line by just a hair. My understanding is it should not be below the min or max line regardless of hot or cold. I have a big jug of generic Advance Auto Parts prediluted 50/50 antifreeze - would that be acceptable to use? The coolant in our car seems to be blue, and I'm pretty sure this stuff is green  **edit** added pics - getting the camera down in the engine bay, I see that it's more than a hair below. If I can use what I have, that would be ideal, but the color thing is throwing me off... |
