Morning Everyone..!!!! :hello::hello:

Nice and Warm in Toronto..

I hope to get out to the garage, but I'm looking after the little guy, then scoring some imaginary brownie points by cleaning the house before Mrs.Force gets home from work.

But it is so mild outside that it would be a very good time to work on my full size 3D puzzle. Hmmm... Imaginary brownie points, or working on the car....

JARblue 01-19-2013 11:05 AM

Good Saturday everyone :hello:

I am just swimming with ideas lately. I think I figured out that I can use pretty much any spray paint I want to to the strut tower brace as long as I use it sandwiched between Dupli-Color's Engine Enamel primer and clear. Ms. BC, I suspect if you took it to a specialty shop, they could do what ever you want, but I'm looking for a DIY solution. Dupli-Color has other options as well with a variety of paints that withstand temps up to 500F (or least intermittently - I think only the caliper paint resists continually).

Waiting for the coffee to brew. I pretty much filled the dumpster yesterday... It was like a large-scale version of real life Tetris. But I managed to fit everything in there.

Unfortunately I found more problems. The basement was partially finished at one point (probably without a permit or any consideration of building code, because someone was an idiot) and they framed and paneled/drywalled the stairs. :ugh2:

Well the drywall was water-damaged and the paneling was a bit rotten and unfortunately was concealing some rot in the staircase itself, so now it looks like I need to have someone replace the last 6" or so of the stair case and a couple of the steps.

Today I'm going to rip out some more ceiling. I hope I don't find any more wire-nutted Romex encased in the ceiling. These dummies put in an interlocking ceiling on the floor joists and have wire running in it that isn't in conduits, circuits patched in with wire nuts/not in an electrical box...

It is certainly crazy what some people consider acceptable construction :shakes head: Electrical and structural problems can be extremely serious matters and should be corrected without delay. I hope everything works out with your renovations. Just don't think about the problems - end result, end result, end result :icon17:

Depends on what those imaginary brownie points get you in the real world :icon17:

Nothing major. I have video of the optional opening and closing sequence for the Defi gauges. I also have a video that shows the red/amber colour.

I can take a picture of some rolled up silicone vacuum hose or take a screen shot of an Uprev download. :ugh2:

Huck 01-19-2013 11:38 AM

There was a guy that had one for sale and I got all happy, then realized it was frp. Sad day. And evo-r doesn't even make it anymore from what I can see. He only makes the type 1 lip that I don't like.

Good day all! :hello:

Well, I managed to get my stock wheel studs installed with zero peripheral damage! :happydance:

No scratched wheels or calipers. A miracle occurred.

This is the first time I've seen my car with Nismo rims and no spacers. I'm fine with the look. Definitely looks better than the Sport rims without spacers.

Had to pass by the office for an hour, but now I'm officially "off" for the rest of the weekend - Barrett-Jackson today and football tomorrow.

Go Niners and Ravens! :tiphat:

kenchan 01-19-2013 03:29 PM

I too prefer the nismo wheels without spacers.

Not too much, doing troubleshooting on a rattle in my hatch, and was going to do an upper manifold cleaning but the cleaning tool I have doesn't match the bottle of cleaner I have. And I can't get the tools brand of cleaner, so I dunno :wtf: to do. :shakes head:

Davey 01-19-2013 04:51 PM

:hello:

Finally sat down. Have not eaten since breakfast... A short glass of Gentleman Jack is in front of me, I'm probably going to be about half-crocked in 15 minutes. :)

Things turned out pretty well thus far, I think we can have 3" cut off the stringers and patch in some good hardwood and we'll be OK. I'd like to do something more moisture-proof, I'm going to ask my guy if maybe it would be possible to pour a final stair of concrete for the remains of the stringers to rest on. We have done a lot to keep our basement dry, but at times the water table gets so high it just comes up through every crack in the floor. However the damage there currently is from years of the washer overflowing/gutters not being adequate, etc.

Back at it tomorrow, but it's coming along.
