on the computer front,
good news: video card is appears to be working properly again as it tested fine in another computer, where it now has it's new home
bad news: no boot when I put the card back in my primary computer, which means the problem may be the PCI slot or some other mobo component and whatever it was likely caused the video card to fail

I dont' remember saying bed. Since the on-board video card only can't do dual display using DVI + HDMI, I had an extra monitor to hook up to another computer, so I ended up just posting everything from that while I worked on the video card and primary computer.

I got a birthday coming up in February. I might just go ahead and upgrade the entire core (cpu, mobo, ram). Its just weird that it seems to be running fine using the on-board video - I've got it running Prime95 right now to see how stable it will be for the near future. If it proves stable, I'll just run that for six weeks or so.
