mmm.... one of my R/C buddy talked with me over the weekend..... he told me there's the Canadian National R/C race is coming up in March near the Niagara Fall area, he is asking me if I interested to race.. Gonna be a 3-days race weekend while he can supply me with most of the equipments I need including the car/chassis. Will talk with him later this week for more details... It's an interesting and attractive offer.... :yum: In case some of you think the R/C race car I'm talking about is like those in ToyRUs.... you can take a look at these...: Front Suspension: http://cdn7.rccaraction.com/wp-conte...cks.jpg?8a12f1 Rear Suspension: http://cdn6.rccaraction.com/wp-conte...ear.jpg?8a12f1  |

i sold my rc racing sedans but i have my tamiya kits still like alfa romeo, minicooper, etc.
what kind of motors and propo's do you guys use these days? the last time i checked the HPI site, they were running stick controllers like back in the 80's. lol :D my motors are all non-brushless (old skool commutator type), 2000mAh NiCad, JRPropo pistol grip propo's.. i think it was called R1 or something. i dont remember. |

Good eyes Mr.kenchan...!! That is the newest associated kit TC6.1  Socal host one of the biggest R/C race in the world during the Winter, we used to have lots of guys fly to there to race.. I started off with HPI chassis too, one of the most popular choices at that time (about 15 yrs ago :icon17:) Then I switch to Yokomo, nicely build but the turn-in wasn't shape enough... Then I switch to the TC-3 from associated, shaft-driven tub-chassis. The shaft-driven design make the car the fastest on acceleration and straight line speed, the amazing thing is they manage to minimize the torque-steer from the motor since the motor was mounted longitudinally... After the TC-3, I switch to the T-1 from XRAY.... then I "retired".... It was so much fun.... We ran 8-9 turns double or triple motors.... friggni' fast.... |
im still lost,....
