It's the sad shame of it all. Public roads are not race tracks. A few seconds of tomfoolery can produce a lifetime of tragedy.

Yesterday morning a guy with his GF in a 350Z modded to **** from what it looked like, wanted me to race him, I said nope... no road racing... even if I had a forced induction built motor I wouldn't do it. Getting people/yourself killed/injured and going to jail or getting a fat ticket at the very least and your car impounded is really not worth it...

I know it's not "as" sad as the OP's post but here's a story that just happened in my neck of the woods. A grandmother looses a son, and a daughter looses a dad. Sad times...

yesterday a f*cking moron in a black suv was trying to race me... i sh!t you not... a stupid suv was racing me.... i wasnt even racing him lol anyways the retard nearly flipped his car and flashes his hazards

i didnt even know what was happening and confused by everything

lol sounds like something that happened to me. This minivan went flying by me one night and then slowed down. I passed him doing a reasonable amount of speed, and as I was just past him, he gassed it again and went flying by.

I was laughing to myself about how many "kill lists" I may have made it on by kids driving soccer-mom specials.

My neighboring town is full of these cases, I think we've had more oncoming traffic deaths in the last 12 months than I remember in a long time, some of them taking 4 lives from 4 seperate families.

And maybe it's because of that that I am desensitized enough to ask how the hell a Scion broke 100mph?

A have a (nameless) friend who insists he only races people when there's nobody else around and that he's SO careful. I've tried time and time again to explain to him but it's always the same answer. Sadly, he's got a 500 hp Corvette so it wouldn't take much to get him into serious trouble... not to mention the fact that he's putting others at risk like the a$$hole in this story.

I can understand his mentality that he would only do it in an area or situation that the only person he would hurt is himself (I live in the boonies), but anytime a 4 lane road or town is involved, not only do I fear the consequences physically, but the shame that would come from people seeing just how immature I am. Hence I really really dislike trying to mess with people in general.
