Just finished with more research, I think I'll try this one out! and it was tested, came in 3rd, I didn't see it cause they call it a DPMS and for $38 I don't think I can pass this by!! The PA m4-74 is $89. Maybe I'll get both, one for me and one for her and give her the better one. Thanks for the heads up.

Awesome. At 100 yards for sets of 10 I was pretty much full torso all over. I'm looking forward to getting down to about a cantaloupe or close to it size.

My observations: If you are all over the target, that points out a problem with sight alignment/sight picture. Low and to the left is an issue with 'bucking' (anticipating the shot), high and to the right, jerking the trigger. There is a target out there that has those things marked off on the target, so you can focus on fixing them. I wouldn't put too much stock in YouTube 'sled tests', it takes time and practice to become proficient with a firearm, no amount of 'tacti-cool' stuff is a substitute for time behind the trigger.

I was having a lot of trouble placing decent-sized groups with my air rifles at only 25 feet. Groups were >1.5" and all over the place. Cleaned the barrels real good (I usually just use a swab; used a brass brush this time) and that made a lot of difference but still not what I wanted. Read up on technique and did some more practice but still not as tight as I wanted. Figured out that most scopes are set for 100 yards, thus I had some big parallax problems at 25 feet. Got an AO scope that I could adjust down to 25 feet and can now fire three shots that touch each other (when the barrel is spotless and I'm having a good day).

I did a lot USPSA , subgun matches and steel challenge matches for several years. My guess is a fraction of a second more of getting a sight picture will tighten up your group. In USPSA there is a lot of running and shooting from odd positions and angles but as long as you have the sight picture and pull the trigger correctly it not a big deal.

@rusty my shield doesn't bulge my cases. At least the ones I've picked up. I don't reload them.
Also I think someone else mentioned they needed to replace the trigger on their new shield with the apex duty kit. IMHO it doesn't need it. But hey it can't hurt. Compared to the trigger on the full sized it's a damn good trigger. The full size is terrible. So much mushy slop. I will be doing an apex kit for that after I put another few hundred rounds through it.

I have the APEX trigger on it. The original trigger is absolute garbage. It's a widely known downfall. Great gun! even better with the trigger work! |

What I did find out is that the case is unsupported on the feed ramp on some barrels. I have the complete Apex kit on my MP40 Pro Series. It's worth it.

Triggers in my M&P's have been great. APEX is "meh". I tried a full APEX setup ($200+!) and it felt much worse to me. The owner of the APEX M&P was mad as hell, too, considering my box-stock M&P9 was noticeably nicer. He was running around having everyone who's department issued M&P's look at mine and demanded I strip it down to prove it was OEM, lol
