Thanks for the lead. I see that American Defense Recon makes a quick-release mount that looks like it's at least very similar to what I'm looking for. And they have several rings with screw levers, a la Weaver Lever Lok.

I was hoping that quick-change mounts would be more common than they are. I guess I'll just have to keep looking. Thanks for the help. I now have two options instead of just one.

Something else just to look at.

Those are some nice guns, and I like the caliber choices.

Right now, my 'favorite' gun is my trusty old 870.

I have a little HK pistol and rifle addiction. I have no room
In the safe anymore.

I have been putting a lot of rounds through my H&K pistols recently and am starting to buy into the "In a world of compromise, some don't" motto. I love the Glock 19, but the P2000 9mm is so much more refined.

I feel the same way about my Walther PPQ. Glock 19 now sits in the back of the safe on backup duty only.

This is NOT a posted video up for discussion. Forum rules dictate we are not to have political discussions. I am refraining from posting my opinions on this clip, but thought, as gun owners. This was informative and you guys can place your opinions in your own hearts and minds. Enjoy the clip.

It's very highly rated, it's just not available. Initially low volume importation, then the Obama-driven gun panic, then the switch away from S&W importation to Walther, then new version introduction PPQ M2)...it's been tough to get enough of them out there. For me, it's been not only the best polymer pistol I've owned, it's been the best all around pistol of any kind.

New XDS shot like a champ today. Love it as a compromise between knockdown and concealability...

Talk about ammo shortages . . .

So this really cute blond 20 something is filling up her gas tank when an old coot drives up in his rusty pick-up with lots of ammo boxes stacked up in the back seat. Upon seeing that she looks over to the old timer and says how about we trade some whoopie time for some ammo?

To which he relies . . .

What type of ammo ya' got?

Joepro 04-13-2013 06:12 PM

The core 15 ate steel ammo like a champ...shot the new FNS-40, love the way this gun shoots, it does seem the sights are off just a tad, I had my friend confirm, we were both groping about 3-4 inches to the right, other than that, fantastic piece. The guy who I have bought a few guns off of at the LGS actually is carrying an FNS now, and he is a HUGE glock head, I mean die hard...

I was looking at a S&W M&P .40 pistol and it indicated that it was made my Walther (etched on the slide)...is that true?

No. The M&P 22 (.22 cal pistol) is made by Walther (actually Umarex), but the regular M&P series pistols are made in the US by Smith and Wesson. The other possibility is that you were looking at an M&P 40 air pistol, which is also labeled Umarex (although actually made in Taiwan). Walther pistols, until recently, were imported by Smith & Wesson. Although made in Germany by Walther (Ulm), the slides also had Smith&Wesson engraving. As of January 1st, that importing arrangement was cancelled and Walthers are now imported by Walther Arms (USA subsidiary) and there's no longer any S&W stamp on the slide.
