F-ck you, Maryland, and your feet-dragging worthlessness. 8 weeks for a god damn background check.

5 minutes in VA.

Dude that sucks.

I walked in the gun store. Told them which gun I wanted. Filled out the form and was out of there gun in hand in 15 minutes tops.

Eight weeks?!?!? Took me little more than eight minutes (actually 20-30 minutes if you count the time spent filling out the form) when I bought a pistol in March. Why does it take so long in MD?

Must be nice. It's instant in CA, but we still have the 10-day wait. And even then, the CA DOJ can decide to mess with you for no reason and make you wait indefinitely.

Because MD is for the children!

Also, they are dumb.

It took me almost a yr to get my AK built.

Romanian ak47 kit with original barrel, matching serial numbers except the bayonet, original furniture finished in russian red. The HG is not orignal, i still have the original HG but didn't like the forward grip.

G2 trigger
Hogue grip
And a damn bullet button cause i'm in Kali.

Is it your first pistol? If so, that would really suck even more since the gun is at the store waiting for you, but don't feel bad as I had to wait over a year for my rifle since the production kept getting pushed back and I finally got it a few weeks ago.

Here's a photo of how my new rifle looks now that I rattlecanned it over the weekend. You can compare to how it looked from the factory on the previous page.

It's my first, yes. But, I have an AR-15 and an 870 Express, so it's not my "only" weapon. Honestly, time has been flying and I have more than enough things to distract me, but it sucks when $600 of my money is just sitting there and I cant get it.

I'm just happy I got it when I did.

After registering the firearm with the Federal Government by filling out the 4473, of course.

Texas is one state where a NICS check isn't required of people with a CHL. Despite Texas' otherwise mildly restrictive handgun laws, skipping NICS is "common sense" IMHO if you've already undergone a background check for the CHL.
