God bless all the men and women serving.
THose that we lost on 9/11
Those who lost loved ones on 9/11.
and those who serve the public still today.

I remember I was in the Marine recruiters office when it happened.

My grandmother was moving that day and we where in the office of the truck rental company. The TV was on and the counter person said a plane hit one of the towers. I said that isn't accidental and just then the second plane hit. At the time I volunteered as disaster relief for the Red Cross plus being in the fire dept. I also just finished my orientation at the hospital as an RN. I went into work and told the nursing supervisor that if called I'd be going to NYC. I didn't get a call but was more than willing to help if needed.

My story: in an airplane over Turin Italy....oblivious...until we landed:"all americans please step to the left-thank you". Heart pounding-images and announcements-shock-disbelief. Desperate to get back IMMEDIATELY to my country...my family frantic-no phone service-stuck in Rome/europe for a week...

....home finally-that was a hard hard week. Wanted to be in usa very badly-w my suffering people.
