I took today off and just finished washing the Z. Will do a full wax job this afternoon after the car is fully dry. Getting my Zspeed aluminum front diffuser installed tomorrow along with a set of Nismo fender liners. The front bumper will finally be tied in properly. Just an FYI on oil change frequency - in Europe they laugh at Americans for our oil change intervals. I know Audi recommends 20,000 km between Mobil 1changes. That being said, I go about 5k miles on a synthetic change. My point being, don't worry if you run past 3,750miles . If it was easier for me to do it, I'd probably go 3k miles between changes. Have a great weekend all. :tiphat: |

ill add you when I get home  but I don't have bf3, only mw3. Quote:
i don't understand why Nissan requires such short intervals. There have been many guys on here who did oil analysis that sshowed you can eun ssynthetic for about 7500 without a problem. I personally just do 2 a year. I only drove 3000-4000 miles per year though. Quote:

In Germany the Nissan Z dealers all go by a 15000km service interval for the oil. They use a Castrol 5-30 full synthetic. My VW GTI dealer is using a 30000km interval, again Castrol 5-30 is used(specific VW spec oil). I am about to send off my Mobil 1 sample to Blackstone labs and it was in the car for 8000+miles. I will report back. Next time around Im using the dealer recommended oil and interval of 15000km. Given the hard use one can put on the car with speed etc here in Germany will be interesting to get the results. Never done an UOA before. I will post it up and then do one using the German dealer oil and interval. I expect no real problems. Oil has come a long way! Fewer changes and down time is all good to me! |

Here's something for Ms.Pint. She's been bugging me for this...
Taken today, you can barely see my little Nissan dealer in the background, http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/...40bae2a8b4.jpg http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/...61bf73bf2d.jpg

Good afternoon, people. I took the Z out to a general car meet last night with my son. The meet occurs every Wednesday at the Log Cabin Restaurant in Macedon, NY, which happens to be about a 2-minute drive from my house ... convenient.
The meet featured all kinds of cars! I saw an Audi R10, many vets of many different years, a black Nismo 370Z, a black 370Z with Sports package, and a black Fair Lady Z. I saw Mustangs, Camaros, S2000's, a Lambo, 350Z's --- trucks and cars of all kinds, shapes, and years. I'll have to show up early next time so that I can be in the show area. :excited: |

Reminds me of a story... I'm driving along in rush hour traffic doing about 70 and I pass this dump truck and I'm out in the clear and coming around this blind corner and all the sudden... This green Suburban goes spinning past me across 4 lanes, through a ditch, in the air, and lands on the shoulder. I hit the brakes when I saw her start to shoot across the road and everyone was slowing down, but then I remembered that dump truck. :ugh2: I didn't feel like getting flattened by some jerk in a dump truck rear-ending me so I got the heck out of there. Anyway, the lady blew a tire and was probably on the phone/driving with one finger and ZING! there she went, right off the road. :shakes head: |
