The370z Useless Thread Part IV

So I got an email from a ford dealer

We have a GT500 inbound and we are advertising it for MSRP+$10k so it $79000. We have a reasonable offer on it right now. So what do you say. If you give me a serious offer I could go to our managers right now.

My thoughts

1. He does have an offer from someone but is trying to draw us into a bidding war.
2. He really doesn't have an offer but wants to place some urgency on me to pay too much.

I replied with I'm not in the $10k ADM ballpark but more the MSRP ballpark.

I'm really hating this car search.

I think you can buy a vette for that price... or at least have more choices... dont need to stick with the GT500.

I know you have your eyes on that car... just wait...

I will suggest you wait til the end of the month when the dealer has to rush their quota. Or even Sep... I don't think ppl will pay $79k for that car... maybe they thought you look desperate to get it, so they put on that 10k markup...

Wait... just wait...trust me... it's a mind game...

The biggest difference the two is... You need to know things about cars to like the GTR, and for the R8 is the other way… you need to know nothing about car but you might still like it....

The $10k markup has been the standard from these dealers. They look at it as I wont find one anywhere for less. Trust me. If I was to buy an $80k car it would be a GT-R.

base price for the Audi R8 is around 114,000. if you have around 100k laying around , might want to weigh your options.. in my oppinion BOTH are mm mm good.
