I'm a little upset that my 2011 MBP (quad-core 2.0ghz/8gb ddr3 ram/256mb nividia card) can't run this game on high settings without series lag.

The Collector's Edition I got came with some keys to give to friends for basically the starter edition/beta equivalent to check it out (lvl 13 max and very limited questing). PM me if you want one, but you can also just log in (or create) your battle.net account and download the D3 game client in the Manage Games area and activate the trial that way w/o needing any keys. The ones that came with my game say to use my DVD to install on their computer and then use the key to activate the trial.

what do you guys think of the game? im seeing a lot of negative stuff on incgamers.. not sure if i wanna spend the 60$ on it

Rooster89 05-21-2012 08:30 AM

I think World of Warcraft ruined what used to be one of the most genius developers there is. WOW made them greedy.

I no longer see Blizzard as elite whilest they share company with developers like Bioware, Naughty Dog, Ubisoft, Bethesda, and Rockstar.

I love it  Graphics aren't spectacular, but that's good for legacy fans that can run it on older hardware. I didn't play WoW because I hated the idea of paying a monthly expense; no cost for D3, plus there will be a Real Money Auction House that you can sell your gear on for actual $$$. Maybe I'll quit my job and play D3 full-time :p

Zaggeron 05-21-2012 12:01 PM

Just ordered a new laptop to play D3 with

Asus N55 SL DS 71 -- i7 Quad Core, 8GB memory, and GeForce with 2GB video memory.

Probably could have gotten away with lower specs, but since its my first new computer in around 7 years, I felt I was due a decent upgrade

Nice  I'm a big ASUS fan. But 7 years? I'd definitely say you're due for an upgrade.

Yeah, the last laptop I bought was a Toshiba P4 back in 2004 or 2005. Used it (still do) as a DAW. Of course, I've gone through 2 Xbox 360s and a PS3 since then. Also have a small little Acer Notebook that I used for browsing the ole interwebs.

I really like ASUS I have a G74S it's pretty nice for the price $1295

2.2GHz Intel Core i7 2670QM Quad-Core
12GB of DDR3 RAM
1.5TB Hard Drive Storage (750GB + 750GB)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M 3GB Graphics
17.3" Widescreen LED-Backlit Display
1920 x1080 Native Resolution

It runs games like a champ, DIII is pretty good I am enjoying it.

That's a steal at that price. Very nice.

It seems extremely silly to me that there is even an option for this. Playing with out this on is a waste of time.

Isamu 05-22-2012 04:11 PM

I think I shall spend the evening after work playing this

Sysopz 05-22-2012 04:19 PM

I am just running normal mode solo and just did the Black Soulstone part, the game is pretty fun!

I have a level 52 and 27. Want a way to save money? Buy Diablo III.

Got my new PC last night and played a bit. Pretty fun. Playing as a Demon Hunter right now. pm me if you want to add my BattleTag -- though I'll probably play solo until I get used to the game again.

Much better playing in a group. More chances to get a rare for your class.

On a side note - Hell difficulty is fu*king hard! I'm not looking forward to Inferno. :ughdance:

Doesn't mean that anyone's gonna buy those. When I go shopping I usually set maxbuyout to something reasonable and go from there. That way I don't even see these crazy sellers...
I think the economy is fine, and in fact, I think I am starting to like Auction House and economy in this game.

Tbaber1990 05-25-2012 10:19 PM

bought mine today. Waiting on it to finish downloading, we'll see.

maxbuyout, not a bad idea. I usually just narrow down my search and sort by buyout. I never bid, because I'm inpatient. Although, I would probably save money if I did.

Isamu 05-28-2012 11:45 AM

someone tried to realid/battletag friend me... but it wouldn't let me accept

Pauly 05-29-2012 05:46 AM

well i bought d3. two pc's and a mac at home, and it wont install or play on any of them. one laptop pc seems to be short on memory, the mac just says "this application cant be installed on this version of mac." and the desktop, just freezes up at 1% of install. any ideas where / how i can troubleshoot? im quite computer ignorant....

Zaggeron 05-29-2012 07:17 AM

^^ as long as your computer meets the minimum stats, you can avoid installing via the DVD by simply signing up for battlenet and using the gamekey to download it from Blizzard.

Pauly 05-29-2012 07:39 AM

i think i have to upgrade the directX thingy to 9.0? hope i dont have to buy more sh*tte

Zaggeron 05-29-2012 07:50 AM

^^ Don't know why an outdated direct X would prevent you from installing via the DVD ...

Anyway, once you've bought the game, there's nothing else you have to pay for. Battlenet is free (in fact an account is required to play the game) and once you've associated your gamekey with your battlenet account, it doesn't matter how you get the game onto the computer -- DVD install, dl from Blizzard it's all the same. I was just saying that if it was your DVD player on the wonk that was keeping you from installing, it doesn't cost anything extra to simply download it from Blizzard.
