They also only talked about the Shelby and Boss Mustangs, as if the GT is a sluggish pile.

It's because it's a campaign against Imports. Notice they don't say STi, just Imprenza, the base sedan the WRX is a style of. They're trying to boost the fact that American Manufacturers are putting out performance cars too.
