Go see star trek

what an absolutely amazing movie. special effects were on a whole new level and most importantly the story was good and really helped pass the torch. fans of the series will be impressed by how accurately the mannerisms of the original characters are portayed especially carl urban he is pitch perfect as Dr McCoy. also its very accessible for new comers and restarts the franchise in a very smart way

so yeah extremely well made the first 10 mins is one of the best opening sequences ive seen in theaters.

going to be hard to out do this movie. alot of good summer movies yet to come but i dont see them having the impact and feel of this one

i give it 5 out of 5

my wife went to the premier and met a bunch of them... she spent a lot of time talking to "hurley" of "lost"... apparently all of jj abrams people were there from his tv shows... i haven't seen it yet, but look forward to it

just tell me they didnt do anything utterly retarded like putting a pink alien in the movie that talks like a stoned jamacan and name it jarjar.

if I had to put up with that I would want to rule the galactic empire as well.

lets see
a green girl kirk gets busy with a little dude that looks like an ewok with no hair and one or 2 random aliens....

but just the presentation was amazing! the way the ships went into and came out of warp the lens flares on the camera and how being out in space is depicted was very cool .

i could nitpick here and there but all i know is the war between star trek and star wars is over. this movie made the new star wars look like more piss than they already are.

i went in a little suspicious of the casting although quinto looked exactly like spock.. but they all were great chris pine does his own thing as kirk but there are a few direct nods there to shattner. even chekov and scotty were good...

the story doesnt reinvent the wheel as far as star trek goes. the villian and his motives are a sort of seen it before story arch but.... the way it involves spock makes sense and helps bring continuity from the old timeline to this new altered one.. so the sequel should take more leaps story wise. i would like to see JJ abrams take on the Borg maybe

I've never been a fan of Star Trek, but I'm definitely watching this movie. I've heard nothing but rave reviews.

Never actually sat down and watched an episode of Star Trek in my life but definitely looking forward to seeing it this weekend. I guess in a way this movie will be more special to me since I'm not familiar with the plotline at all.

If you actually were around to watch the original series they did a brilliant job of tying the current into the past. A real homage to Gene Roddenberry and well worth seeing as my wife and I did last night! The theater was packed late last night with a lively crowd of all ages. My wife sat next to a young man whose every other word while watching in awe was f@#k. Gotta love it!

i second this... and i did not even want to watch the movie... i was just trying to get away from the smoke in santa barbara... but am very happy i decided to watch this...

I thought it was really good. I saw it thursday night and i'm probably going to see it saturday but in the Imax theater.
