PG, I was just going to buy the stock ones, keep the entire interior the same orange-ish color. I was thinking of doing a full tear down and replace the LEDs with a different color, but I think it would be to much.

Do you have/Plan to have an aftermarket head unit?

Yep, but taking my time with that upgrade. Some days I really am close to ordering it and others I feel I do not need it. Currently I have the base stereo and just play all my music from the AUX port, never really touch the MP3 player. I rarely need nav, but I know if I did get it I would use it (would get one with traffic updates and such).
Plus to install it I have to go to Austin to have a friend do it, he does all my electrical car work. |
I loved the XM Navigation, but I wish it was cheaper D:

The reason I ask is because what colors are the lights/controls on it? Perhaps try to get your lighting to match that, since it would give it symmetry and make it look as if it was supposed to be there... Give your interior a 2 tone look, and should you decide to do the full swap later, your already halfway done...

On the Kenwood unit I have, you can change the colors on it. I set mine to orange to match the other dash lights. I don't have any pics available at the moment but if you want I can post some up later.

I used to have a pioneer avic-d3 unit that you could change the colors with as well. Too bad all of the button's don't work anymore...bleh.

I think I'm going with the Kenwood unit that AK put in. Seems like it'll do everything I need it to do. It'll be nice to be able to consolidate my gps and satellite all into one unit.
