One of the guys on the show was able to get clean water by making "ozone" by making his own little tesla coil. Super jealous of that guy's smarts.

:roflpuke2:

winters here can be long and dreary, last winter we had a period of temps in the very low teens. and since we are in the country if the power goes out....

we do have a heat pump, but the wood is free and our fireplace is super clean burning, it heats the whole 2800 sq ft all winter.

Wow, that has to be quite the two-sided job, you can either feel great at the end of the day, or horrible. What's the longest recovery time she's experienced?

I've got a big house and all, but I'm in one of those cookie cutter neighborhoods where I could run a ladder over my neighbors' roofs.

exactly right, plus she takes heat from family members when she makes them unable to eat. many people with brain injuries or strokes lose the ability to swallow so everything they eat or drink goes directly into their lungs. we refer to this as "bacon lung." :icon17:

Thanks, it was quite an ordeal, but we got the exact house we wanted, where we wanted it. When we bought the land there was an old single wide mobile home there that a bunch of tweakers were living in. They were evcited and to protest they took all of the stuff and burned it in the front yard! :ugh2:

No, it just keeps piling up in there until you get pneumonia, then you die.

Thanks Dad! We feel very fortunate to have such a great place at our age.

Togo 09-08-2009 09:35 PM

wow thats some crazy ****! Thats cool though that you guys built the home exactly how you guys wanted it. It's so expensive to do that where I live, everything is all developed and when you build the taxes are through the f'n roof!

I've got close to 1000 photos of the process. I tried to give the mobile home away on craigslist, but nobody had the money to move it, so the fire department came and burned it down for practice. It was cool having 4 departments and 50+ firefighters there! I was so happy to see that POS burn down.
