lol....^^

i didnt even know we got that pic on here

cow 07-01-2009 07:30 PM

I'm sick of seeing Michael Jackson coverage on TV.

nogoodname 07-01-2009 07:32 PM

what are they saying now??

cow 07-01-2009 07:36 PM

I don't know-- I just see him on every news channel my girlfriend flips past. Like I said in the thread, there's more important things happening in the world that should be getting coverage.

Celebrity-obsessed media is really irritating.

nogoodname 07-01-2009 07:38 PM

the radio stations over here didnt really play his music that much

cow 07-01-2009 07:45 PM

Here either anymore, except for pop stations when they'd do a flashback weekend or something.

frost 07-01-2009 07:47 PM

His will was filed today!!!! (somehow newsworthy)

nogoodname 07-01-2009 07:47 PM

yeah, they do 80's hour & 90's hour

Yeah. I heard that on NPR. I like the way they cover his story (& most every story). They have a report, & they move on. Y'know, how news is supposed to be.

As long as a will has been notarized, it can be filed posthumously (here in the states, anyway).

nogoodname 07-01-2009 07:52 PM

not here, no will or no power attorney...everything is taken away

frost 07-01-2009 07:53 PM

Goes to the government?

Interesting.

Here in Louisiana, in that case, everything goes into an estate until a judgment of possession is filed.

I assume that's how it is in other states, but I'm not 100% sure.

nogoodname 07-01-2009 07:56 PM

frost,

yea, no will or power attorney and the family will be bouted out

Man, I wish things were like that here. It would make my job (mineral rights title) so much easier.

If there's no judgment, I get stuck trying to figure out who owns what. If some jerk years ago didn't have a will in the 1920s, I may end up having to figure what percentage is owned by hundreds of heirs (if I can even do that).

That sounds like a frustrating gig.

nogoodname 07-01-2009 08:00 PM

It can be. That 'bubblin crude' pays well, though.

Yeah, basically. It's a good idea to have a will on file regardless of your status.

You never know what can happen & it's better to have your possessions spoken for as opposed to letting it be squabbled over.

frost 07-01-2009 08:02 PM

I'm not sure I like either way. Seems like it should be in the middle, i.e. an understanding that leftovers will go to spouse, followed by children, followed by parents. if you get to the deceased' parents and no one applies, THEN go to the state.

nogoodname 07-01-2009 08:03 PM

can't slack on it

Pragmatically, I agree completely.

Selfishly, I like the Canadian way.

Friend of mine is selling his 91 300z TT, in a bad spot on cash and is looking for a quick sale.

Title status: Good, in hand.

The good:
It's cheap
It's TT
Title in hand
And... it's cheap..

The bad:
It got impounded, and as of today, it's gonna cost 370$ to get it out (Add's 30$ a day until removed)

He's asking 1800$ plus impound fee's.

Car runs great, has no A/C. Few body damages, nothing big.

Contact:
Cell - ***-***-****, Guy's name is Sam

1800+Impound fee's and you'll have a nice 300zx TT!!
I'm interested, but the no A/C might be a deal breaker.

frost 07-01-2009 08:10 PM

id pay 1800 for it, if I had that laying around.

cow 07-01-2009 08:12 PM

I'm probably going to pass. I'd like it, but I need a beater & for that money, I can pick up an old Civic or a G20.

It's tempting, though.

With an eighteen-year-old car, there'll probably be eighteen-year-old problems.

frost 07-01-2009 08:13 PM

I hear what youre saying, but my idea of a beater if something I can get completely sideways in and have a blast with, without worrying about chips in paint and dings in the rims.

I want something good on gas with A/C. Beyond that, I don't care. I need to stop putting miles on my 350Z. It's on Tein Monoflex coilovers-- they're too rough for daily use &, realistically, I'm wasting miles counting down to an eventual rebuild by driving on LA's awful roads.

nogoodname 07-01-2009 10:05 PM

laters fellas

frost 07-01-2009 10:06 PM

Yeah. The price isn't an issue, it's just whether I need it.

I almost want to buy it as a "Save a Z" project, as I'm sure it'd get riced out here.

nogoodname 07-02-2009 09:05 AM

Paypal me a donation to the "Save a Z Foundation" and I will rescue that Z there.

cow 07-02-2009 09:06 AM

I was about to ask you for a donation.

nogoodname 07-02-2009 09:09 AM
