My mom was a general contractor on top of owning lots of property.

I began doing framing, demolition, drywall, electrical, plumbing, and finishing carpentry at age 10 or so.

Its in the blood on my moms side. At age 3 my mom got me my first tool set.
The next day she saw water streaming from under the bathroom door. She walked in and found me with my tool set. I disconnected the water line to the toilet, separated the tank from the toilet and loosened the base from the wax flange in the floor. lol.

Anyway,

The part about working with a a drywaller that was an ex coke runner is true. His name was Jimmy and he taught me mudding tricks and tips that I've used to this day. He is still the best mudder I've ever seen.

Ehh , it's not too bad. They compensate some with "comp" time to burn , but I only work 32 hours/week , get paid for 40...so I'm usually the first one they call

Cool. I wish I were a bit handier. I can fix some stuff, but couldn't do a full remodel job if my life depended on it. Those home depot classes are a joke.

Police Escort To Visit Lil Wayne?

Police Escort To Visit Lil Wayne?

"We don't just send helicopters up for rappers," 911 caller told

JUNE 29--A Florida man last week called 911 seeking a police escort to the Miami home of the rapper Lil Wayne. Michael Kruse, 20, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge for making false emergency calls, according to the below St. John's County Sheriff's Office report.

When Kruse, who was calling from his Ford Taurus, requested the escort, a police operator asked, "You want a police escort to take you to Miami?" He answered, "Or, do you have a helicopter?" The 911 operator replied, "We don't just send helicopters up for rappers." Kruse, pictured in the mug shot at right, did not respond to an interview request left on his cell phone.

I hate the post-lunch hangover feeling. The town in which I work only has "home cooking" places.

Bugh.

nogoodname 06-29-2009 12:34 PM

home cooking is FTW...man

here, it's all fast food......be happy

cow 06-29-2009 12:37 PM

Home cooking is great if it's not your only option for over a year. I'd rather fast food-- at least I can get an OK salad or something.

I'm no health freak, but I like to eat "healthy" sometimes.

zZSportZz 06-29-2009 01:02 PM

I spent freaking 20 years of my life eating fast food....never again. Sticking to healthy from now on...

I'm never going back to were I was and still have more to lose!

not a single fast food joint near you??

There's a Subway, Dairy Queen, & Burger King. I'm not a big Subway fan since they switched from real chicken to that processed crap. The town's a real hick, white trash-type town, which, somehow, manages to even screw up fast food.

I've been working here for a year-- I'm really looking forward to moving soon.
