In all honesty I don't think any of the above are going to make you any happier than the Z.
Yes, the 135i is a very quick car on a straight line. Hasn't got the Z's handling though. Plus, keep in mind this is a 1 series BMW - it's based on what gets sold with a 4-pot sub- 2 litre engine in Germany and competes with the Golf. The WRX is interesting - but have you seen the interior? Porsche Cayman S - maybe. But it would be plenty used if you stick to Z pricing. Mustang - can't comment. Haven't driven one. Have you considered something a bit more extreme? Try test driving a Lotus Elise R or SC if you're after handling and performance. Else I'd stick to the Z. Anyway, just my few cents.
