Dealer we bought our Lexus from GAVE my kid an old flip style VW key. Wonder if I can paint it silver and get a little change for it.

He said he felt bad for my kid since me and my wife both got keys so he dug up an old VW key for a used car they had sold and gave it to him. Functions just fine I'm sure but not on the Lexus.

Entertainingly enough Aston has something similar to this for their DBS. It has a gigantic Sapphire that is basically pushed into a hole in the console and used as the button for the push button start lol.

Does it do anything different? For $7000 my key fob better drive my car, change my oil, wash my laundry, and make sandwiches at that price.
