Windows Phone 7

I have not gotten to try a Windows Phone 7 phone yet, but hopefully soon as some in my office want to upgrade to it. The devices are similar to Android where Microsoft is licensing the OS out to those who want to us the OS with their hardware.

That just cracks me up... Windows phone OS has been like this for what, 15 years?

That is true, I laughed at a Google exec who said there was no room in the Market for a new mobile platform when MS has been around in the mobile market longer than Google has been around, but MS debated early on if they were going to cut out companies and build the phone/OS themselves since a lot of companies failed to build good quality phones that took advantage Windows Mobile.

I just think that Microsoft is late to the party with this one.In the beginning, they were one of the big dogs as smart phones first started to lift off, but lost to Blackberry. Windows Phone 7 is a complete reimagining of their OS with features more akin to the iOS and Android, but I don't know how well this will pan out.

Interestingly enough, Sony Ericcson doesn't seem to have a Windows 7 phone in the works. I was waiting for the irony of a Sony PSP Phone running on the Live fueld Windows Phone 7 OS, but alas, they've opted for Android.

Very true, WP7 is definitely going to have a tough battle to win over fans, but I could see it becoming the main business choice and completely removing BB from the game.
I know many love iOS & Android but a lot of companies have to stick with BB or WM devices for security reasons and BB is starting to slip.

I wish Microsoft luck. Android is evolving at a lightning pace, but every revision is just as likely to break something as fix something else. How many Android users have downloaded "touchdown" to get corp email because Google keeps changing their code behind email syncing with every version and it is highly buggy?
