Has anyone looked at the trophy list? Some of them are freakish. Win a race by .01 or less? Get the EXACT time on the Nurburgring with the GT-R? How is that even remotely possible? I applaud anyone that gets it, but it really sounds like they're expecting a little too much with some of the trophies.

Best I've ever done is by .014 in Gran Turismo 3. The stars were aligned for me to get that win in the first place.

I always keep them, because chances are you'll need the early ones for some BS cup in the first 3 tiers of races. Plus, how are you supposed to get the 1000 car trophy otherwise?

Well, I got the "Win a race by .01 or less" trophy on day 1. It was a really good race to the finish and I didn't thing that I had in won but I did by .001 of a second.

I sell some, keep some. You should sell that FT 86 you won. It's worth 90k as a used car!. You can win another one if you want it again.

The 370 is my favorite car! It drives easy. If anything with me to much oversteer. Maybe it's your setup.

If you are using the regular control, that's your culprit. Get a nice wheel.

I haven't tried this, but are you saying I can win the event, get the free car, sell the car, play the same event again and I will get the car again?

The old GT games worked that way. I haven't tried it on the new one.

You can't. Only certain race cups in past GT games gave you the prizes repeatedly, and they weren't utnil much later in the games. You do get the 86 proto as a prize twice early on though from two separate events. One is 2009 and the other is 2010

just tuned up an R34 v-spec II and did the supercar challenge(?), level 11 or whatever... omfg fast as hell and literally handles on rails. unbelievable!

i finally unlocked the Top Gear Track by getting a gold in that ******* Bus race.... i wanted to shoot myself it took a good hour of my life.....


ive been doing standing start laps in the GTR on the Top Gear Track...got in down to the 1:19's like the real time!!!!

also got to level 20... the A spec Changes from the 370z pic to the Ford GT wheel.... havent tried any of the extreme races yet as my eyes are about to bleed from playing all day

ive completed every special event up to level 20

to me the hardest special event was the first race in the grand tour... i could barely get bronze in that one.. got gold or silver on the rest....

It can be tough to find good people to race with. Most want to play bumper cars. :)

Yeah, trucks don't seem to appear very often. I eventually found a '02 Chevy Silverado SST Concept with 487HP for around 90K. Powerful truck, it ate the competition.

I had to pretty much max the ESP to stay on the road.

and the Z in the game doesn't handle like anything in real life.

So, I've been playing the game since it came out, and I love it!

Just like any respectable 370z owner, the first respectable car I bought when I had enough credits was the 370z. I then proceeded to mod the heck out of it, haha (all the tunes, supercharged, and so on.. I think to around 500 some-odd HP). I love the way it handles. Oversteer on a RWD car is a blast. I think it's my favorite car so far in terms of sheer "fun to drive".

When I had the money, though, the next nice car I bought was the '07 GT-R, which I proceeded to also mod the heck out of. I've actually added just about everything you can to it. It has 798HP I believe. INSANELY fast (haven't run into a car in single player that has been faster so far), but it has ungodly understeer. Thank goodness it's so fast, because you have to slow waaaay down for corners or you'll end up in a wall. I've also upgraded the LSD, diff, and suspension, and tweaked them (and the brakes) to try to help eliminate the understeer, but it's still there. It's so fast, though, that I'm still able to win all the races it's eligible for entering thus far.

I do have a question, though.. What's better than the GT-R? I want something that's as fast as it, but preferably in RWD so understeer isn't such an issue. I got the 458 Italia thinking it would be a good platform to mod, but it doesn't allow a turbo or supercharger! It's fast, but nowhere near the GT-R. Any recommendations on a super-fast car with amazing handling? Haha.

try the LFA its one of my favorites in the game.. mine is still stock except i gave it better tires and its better than the 458 i think

Can you turbo or supercharge it? If so, that'd be great. The GT-R added on over 300HP worth of mods, and I'd love to find a V-8/10/12 that you could do that to. (Oh yeah, another downside to the GT-R - it seems to only have a top speed of around 197 or so.)

Upgrade the transmission to the adjustable one and you can tweak the final gear ratio. I've gone well over 200mph in my 700+HP Gallardo

Durrr! I even had the upgraded tranny, but I didn't see the option to change the settings for it! That's awesome. It's actually really nice that you can tweak the top speed / gear ratio for each track. Definitely handy.

Oh, and I just won the Veryon for completing the last level on Professional or whatever. I upgraded what I could on it (up to around 1160HP) and did a few test runs with it. It seems very similar to the GT-R. AWD and gobs of power.. and understeer, haha. Should be a fun car to take to some races ;)

Adjusting that final gear ratio was the only way I could go fast enough on the LeMans track.

Anyone else think it was kind of weird that it started the credits after finishing the Professional series ... You can go directly back to your GT screen but still ...

Yeah, haha. That kind of caught me by surprise. It was like "You still have a lot more to play.. but we're going to show you the credits now". Considering I'm only around 20% done with the game, it was definitely an odd time to show the credits.

I guess they figure most people don't make it past 20% in the game. :)
Might be true, maybe the casual player will start playing more online or arcade after that.

In the past, you could finish a huge part of the game with a modded R34 Skyline, but in this game there are so many category races. I hate having to buy a car (a lot of times, less than desirable) and spending all that money modding it, just to win one race, and then you can't use it anymore later on (eg. Toyota Vitz)
