Pussy Problem!

Now that I have your attention, I need your help. My neighbor's cat keeps jumping on my car and scratching up my paint. Every morning I find fine scratches, sometimes dirt on my fender and cat fur all over. Also craps all over my lawn. Anyone know how to get rid of this problem, aside from a BB gun or crossbow. I really don't want to kill it, just stop it. I don't even know if the cat is an actual pet or one of the dozen or so strays they keep feeding. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

SmoothZ 08-21-2010 09:52 AM

If there's no collar on it, call the city or county animal control to have them come by to pick it up. It's a nuisance. Otherwise, you can catch it yourself and take it to the pound.

flashburn 08-21-2010 09:52 AM

Neither a BB gun or crossbow, but will solve the problem:

Just kidding of course. Best solution might be to talk to your neighbor. I think calling animal control on it might be difficult, but that could also work, as long as it doesn't have any tags on it.

cptspeed 08-21-2010 09:57 AM

pour ammonia on the ground around the car every couple of days.

SmoothZ 08-21-2010 09:57 AM

If you know it's the neighbor's cat, then talk to them about it and ask nicely for them to control their pets. First though, call animal control to see what the local ordinances are regarding strays and pets. That way, you'll have some knowledge you can use if the neighbor becomes a douchebag.

Lemers 08-21-2010 10:00 AM

Put cay nip on your neighbor's car. See if that will get the cat on your neighbors car

Zaggeron 08-21-2010 11:06 AM

Get a dog :)

ChrisSlicks 08-21-2010 11:55 AM

Get some lion piss.

toxik 08-21-2010 11:58 AM

lol @ the thread title.

i actually read this same problem on multiple other forums. cats often sleep on top of the hood of your car, because theyre attracted to the warmth. i think your only solution is a car cover.

I'll gladly supply it! :tiphat:

Whenever I have ******* jumping on my car, I just invite them inside.

Ohh, cats..... never mind.

red6spd 08-21-2010 12:39 PM

If it was me and it was a neighbors car I would talk to them first. If that dont work video tape the cat on your car and tell them your gonna take them to court for the damage on the car. If its a stray I would try and catch it and bring it to a shelter.

P.S I love my Garage.

pompey 08-21-2010 01:02 PM

if the cat problem doesnt stop, you could always buy a car cover for at night when you go to sleep or something like that.

Jamaica 08-21-2010 01:06 PM

talk to the neighbor or ill call animal control telling em your have maor pussy problem.

Cmike2780 08-21-2010 01:46 PM

Thanks for the feedback. I'm gonna start putting the cover on and maybe buy some moth balls or hot pepper. I have a dog, but I can't exactly leave her there to watch my car at night. I really don't want to start anything with my neighbor, but I'm not the only one who has a problem with this. We've called animal control in the past, but it seems like they just keep multiplying.

The cat doesn't look like it has a collar. Never had to catch this kind of pussy before, do I need to set up a trap? or should I buy it drinks and wait for it to get drunk?

370zsport09 08-21-2010 01:48 PM

Trap it.....put in box.....drive to the next state...dump in woods

Ouch!!

red6spd 08-21-2010 02:33 PM

Cover is a good idea if you plan on washing the car everytime you put the cover over it. You might end up putting more scratches on it buy putting a cover over a dusty car.

:iagree: that's kind of why I usually leave it uncovered.

I'll look for that cat repellent stuff too.

AK370Z 08-21-2010 02:57 PM

Give the cat to your nearest Chinese restaurant. :yum:

frost 08-21-2010 02:59 PM

Squirt gun just a couple times will work. That's how many people train their cats to not jump on furniture.

You know talking to the neighbor is not going to do anything. They can't "control" their cat! It's not a dog. You can't leash it or keep it inside all the time. I have a cat and she sometimes gets on my car. It sucks but I can't do a damn thing about it. Cats will be cats and they will do what they will. Get a garage or car cover. Problem solved.

fullmonty 08-21-2010 06:20 PM

Shoot it. Problem solved

FL 4Motion 08-21-2010 06:56 PM

If talking to your neighbor doesn't work, just set up some traps for it and if it doesn't have a collar, take it to the pound.

Or just do like fullmonty said and just shoot it and be done with the whole thing.

WarmAndSCSI 08-21-2010 06:57 PM

lol @ this thread.

I like the Chinese restaurant idea.

Coming from a cat household, ill tell you that I have had 12 cats, all of them loved cared about and none of them wore collars. Those crafty little Fuhcker's would slip out the door when no one was looking or wait for you to come in and run out. They were always on the front steps in the morning, so the best way I can say you should go about this is the way you would want someone to treat your pet.
You also might want to rethink the car cover, if it is thinner than a cats nail are long.

rudi 08-23-2010 05:20 AM

You could use an alarm system. Don't know if it would be sensitive enough though.

Jeffblue 08-23-2010 07:56 AM

damn it looks like the sunroof beheaded the cat, but the cat like annihilated the paint on the car with those claws!
